Capcom Hinting at a New RE Wii Game

A new quote has surfaced via Neogaf. It seems to hint heavily that the upcoming game will be Umbrella Chronicles 2, which would seem to include a Code: Veronica segment.

Game Focus: One of the staff here loves Code Veronica (Fale) and was wondering if we would see a XBLA or PSN release of this game.

Matt Dahlgren: Nothing is planned for the game regarding a remake on PSN/XBLA, but what I can say is if you are a fan of Code Veronica you should pay attention in the next couple of weeks there is some news you should be very pleased with. Tell him to pay attention on the 12th (March).

Joystiq recently interviewed Capcom's Associate Product Marketing Manager, Matt Dahlgren. In it, they managed to pull a nice quote from him regarding the Nintendo Wii.

[Speaking on RE5 for Wii] "It was made for the Xbox 360 and PS3," he told our correspondent, Xav De Matos, at a recent Capcom event in Toronto. "That being said, Nintendo Wii fans will be very happy very soon."

So, RE5 is pretty much out, but it seems something else is in the works. Perhaps Umbrella Chronicles 2?

So what does Capcom have to say regarding a Residrnt Evil 2 remake?
"Fans will be happy with coming anouncements."

And what do they saw on more Resident Evil on Wii?
"Nintendo fans will be very happy, very soon."

Resident Evil 2 remake on Wii. Bet on it.

Though I say "NO" to localized versions if remake and zero on Wii. Pointless when the GC versions work fine!

UC2 would be a disapointment, unless they took the remainder of Bravo Team, and made scenarios for each team member, something like they did with Richard in UC1. I'd look forward to the scenario with Enrico, how he came into contact with Wesker, how he actually learnt that Wesker was the traitor, etc. ..that would be cool. See if they had few battles here and there.

At this point, I really don't care what Capcom decides to give the wii. Its been 7 years since REmake was released, and since then they have gotten many hints from fans that they want a RE2 remake. If they choose to let down the fans again and give us a UC2, whatever, it's their loss.
