Wow, I loved Umbrella Chronicles but...this...eh.
I'm fine with on-rails shooters, and I think that UC has far too much hate put on it by the community, but really, Capcom should have just done an RE 2 remake. Regardless, at least they KINDA listened to us, right guys?
I'm looking forward to Darkside Chronicles, and hope that it manages to still be fun. My only major requests are the following
    - T-103 boss fights (required)
    - Alysson Court and Paul Mercier reprise their roles as Claire and Leon (Hey, Court has been Claire now for almost 10 years, it would feel awkward for her to have a new VA all of a sudden, to me at least).
    - Make Steve (if he's in it) less annoying. At least give him a voice actor that doesn't make me cringe every time he opens his mouth.
    - Less waggle-based counterattacks. Seriously, those got tiresome when trying to shake a zombie off. Using the buttons wouldn't hurt.
    - Give it some depth. For a light-gun-style game, UC was pretty meaty. I feel down that Capcom is trying to pander to an even MORE casual audience with this, but if they can make the game long enough, or at least give it enough extras, then I'll be happy.

Same with Ada. Don't count on it.

I know, I thought I had read that Capcom is now only hiring non-union Voice Actors working in California, thus Richard Waugh's voice work as Wesker in UC was scrapped and replaced by D.C. Douglas, but considering how Mercier and Court were both in Degeneration, that kinda gave me a bit of hope.

Oh well, only time will tell. I'm assuming the trailer for this will come out at E3.

I'm not knocking personal preference, but does the Voice Actors really make a difference to you?

I guess I am used to hearing so many different voices for my favorite characters (Chris & Jill) that it really doesn't faze me, whomever ends up voicing them.

Has it always been the same dude to voice Leon?

^Normally, in video games, it matters very little to me, too, because like you said, we're used to hearing many different actors voice the same character. But, for me, when a specific voice actor has done a character's voice more than once, I start to get used to the voice, and in a way, I get sort of spoiled and expect to the same VAs to return to their characters.

Honestly, my main preference is Alyson Court, simply because I think Court does an amazing job as Claire. But, with other characters, their voices aren't that memorable, so them getting a new voice actor doesn't faze me too much.

No. Paul Mercier provided Leon's voice for RE4 and Degeneration. RE2's was provided by a different Paul, Paul Haddad.

It doesn't hurt that you're a huge Claire fan...

I see what you're saying. I mean, I'd love for Chris to have had as good a voice actor as he had in RE5. (Was that the same guy from REUC...?) Chris has had so many voice actors, and they all seemed to be average at best, but mostly crappy...so his personality suffered as well. If there's a stable VA, then they can instill qualities in the characters that cannot be done by polygons & pixels alone.

Ah, that's right...my memory was off, but I asked because I thought that he sounded different in RE2 (which I haven't played in a long time).

It's also a fun thing to see a voice actor "evolve" with the character. Their talent gets better as the new generations of the series does. Overall it's not a big deal to me, but in Leon and Claire's cases I like the familiarity of the voices that we've had for so long.

Not to mention, in some cases they get replaced by terrible voice actors when the first was amazing and you wish you were hearing the older, more talented one halfway into it. (KOS-MOS in Xenosaga II lolololol)

Well, I'll be raped by angry monkeys...it looks like it's solo play and has both first person and RE4 style gameplay from those shots.

I believe the term is what the blue hell?

My only concern is the somewhat emo/badass pose by Leon in what looks like the front of the RPD (where he has his gun down and looks all sad). I am concerned rather than RE2 Leon we're gonna see RE4 or Degeneration Leon...which makes no sense whatsoever.

Still, I must admit to being somewhat more intrigued by this now.

It is in first-person but you just see your partner on screen in front of you, like the images above here. The bright side though, from what I can tell, all that scenary looks like it has been builded from scratch this time around than using outbreak's enviroment. I pray that this will be the same for the rest of the game.

Ohhhh, I see. Slightly saddened. But yeah, it all looks brand spanking new. No recycling old environments this time.

...which means no reason to hideously butcher the plot bar having the two characters together. Right? Right?

Well, they have said this game has been in production straight after UC (I would say about a few months after, seeing that it sold over a million) so that's got to be arond 12 to 14 months? And the game's only 30-40 percent completed so it looks like they are spending their time on starting from fresh when it comes to each scenario. But I am sure the engine that was in Umbrella Chronicles has been much improved and other technology (such as Havok which is already been comfirmed) will be included down the line so the game would probably have a 2-3 year production, with a much better budget thanks to the first game's huge success, and they wouldn't want to compromise of having the same flaws from previous feedback to improve this game's quality, so I think this game's going to be MUCH more better than the first.

I'm starting to look at RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles as hiccups in production. RE5 has restored some of my faith in Capcom making good RE games. This one might do some more good.
