  • Capcom Officially Announces RE5 : Versus Mode DLC, It's Not Free.

Capcom have started sending out the PR e-mails for the Versus Mode DLC for Resident Evil 5 to their subscribed users. The kicker here is that the versus mode DLC will not be free and will cost 400 MS points or 4.99$ on the PSN. They don't give out an exact release date but mention it will be available "within weeks" of the game's launch.

Versus allows up to four players to match wits in online battles across two very different game types. Slayer’s Rule is a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis. In Survivor’s Rule, players hunt the most dangerous game, each other! Players can begin the hunt as Chris, Sheva or other secret characters, and choose from either one-on-one or two-versus-two team matches for either of the two gameplay styles.

This has made my mind up.
I'm getting the Standard edition instead of limited now.
I can get the standard edition for £27, then buy the DLC which ATLEAST will go upto £29 total, and then I don't have to spend £45 on just a special edition.
        Sorted.

$4 is a cakewalk. Though it's a moot point as these modes don't interest me in the slightest. If some youtube videos appear and it looks awesome, I'll consider it, but right now I'm focused on getting the platinum trophy from the 50 trophies already in the game.

At first read, it doesn't look like something I must have, indeed it tends to sound boring...though we should wait and see.

As far as I read, I understand that....

Versus, let's say is the name of the Downloadable Content which basically has 2 modes: Slayer and Survivor.

                    About Slayer...

Slayer (1 vs 1): you compete against another player by getting more points.
Slayer Team (2 vs 2): your partner and you compete against another player team by getting more points.

Slayer may mean that you're not necesarily in the same scenario as your rivals
I think this mode deserves a crappy honorific medal.

                    Regarding Survivor...

it also could be 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2, though I read and I read and I can't imagine what "players hunt the most dangerous game, each other!" might mean

Multiplayer modes should all be included in the game. I understand charging for maps but a multiplayer mode? Forget it. Yeah sure, it's $4 but it's $4 I shouldn't have to spend on something that takes no effort to include in the game I spent $65 on.

$4 is nothing. I'll happily buy that.
