Yeah, this is RE2-era Leon & Claire...when they were both somewhat believable characters. I can't wait to see how they're butchered in an attempt to make them appeal to today's video game audience.
If you don't know what I mean, then play RE2 again, and then play subsequent games where:
- Claire outruns gatling gun fire from a helo, before jumping into a room where she has an old fashioned Mexican standoff with armed guards. To defeat them, she drops a pistol and then defies the laws of physics to make her body fall faster than the gun to catch it and fire off a perfectly placed shot to detonate an explosive barrel. Pretty far removed from your standard drunken college student.
- Leon does parkour; flips up, over, and through lasers; jumps across chasms and catches the other side one-handed; falls through a trapdoor and defies the laws of physics to deploy a grappling hook upward at a rate faster than the descent of his body; etc.
So yeah, in "Darkside Chronicles" I fully expect to see Claire & Leon doing ninja flips from building to building while sniping zombie-piloted AH-1's while sharing a plate of spaghetti like "The Lady & the Tramp."
