      Wow, a trailer already?!
      Looking nice!!!
I hope they don't over promote this and reveal too much before the game is released. Capcom showed WAY too much of RE5 (and I mean WAY, way, way too much!!!).

It's obviously no coincidence that they announced this now. Nintendo says, "Hey everybody, hyped, excited and already loving RE5. Don't forget about us! We've got more Resident Evil on the way too!".

Simplifying the controls probably means that you wont have to use the 'nun-chuck'. With Wiimote only, it will make the game a lot friendlier to those who want to use a gun shell and play it like a real lightgun game.
I'm also glad they are improving the zombie reactions to getting shot!
From the sounds of things it might play more like HotD Overkill and include enemies flying backwards through the air, like in Time Crisis and Dead Aim (maybe).

Obviously someone didn't play UC before. Firing is done by pressing B button, while some QTE is done by waggling the wiimote or pressing A and B too, not to mention the analog using as limited shifting of the view.
Actually, firing is done with B/A, depending on your button layout of choice, I think... (You've got 3 configs, I think; A/B/ZAPPER)

QTE's are Shake, A, B or A+B or Shake, Z, B or Z+B, depending on your controller style (No A button if you use Zapper Style, not sure about the two other layouts, though. But for whoever plays without a nunchuk; there is no Z included, at least.)

Also, I dunno what "UC" Dot50Cal played, but Umbrella Chronicles at least ran nicely all the time. The current footage of Darkside Chronicles don't seem to be doing anything spectacular in the graphics department (but looks more than rock solid enough), so I don't expect it to be taking any bad hits anywhere.

I had no problems when I played Umbrell Chronicles; no frame rate issues or any graphical hitches, the wii-remote and aiming was fine as well. I think Dark Side looks fine, even at its early stages of production, and I can't wait to see more footage of what other scenarios will be included.

No sure about the other control schemes though, but I'm talking on the default scheme so yah. For the gun zapper, the fire button is B too...

This looks like REmake 2, only that it is on rails. I was a bit annoyed at first, because the game was on-rails, but the graphics look really good.

That outside area of the Police Station. Is anyone able to tell if those are re-used from Outbreak, or are they brand new? They look new, and if they are, then that means they will be re-designing the inside of the police station too!

Well, looks like I got 4 new Resident Evil games to pick up now!

              - Resident Evil Wii
              - Resident Evil Zero Wii
              - Resident Evil 5 Xbox360
              - Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

I know we already have the GameCube versions of the first 2 games, but as a Resident Evil fan, I'm still going to pick them up.

              Also, who knows...

Maybe later in development, this game will look so much like a remake, that they will decide to scrap the on-rails concept, and truly turn it into a remake!

It wouldn't be the first time Capcom has made a big move like this.

Definitely made new areas. The whole area where you begin scenario 1 you can see the fire from the crashed tanker & the mangled "Raccoon St". sign post. That whole area really, believe I saw Arukas(sp?) Tailor there, the alley and then Kendo's Gun Shop. Also saw zombies fenced in, which would be the basketball court. There's one part where Leon is kneeling, the building looks like the one which has the burning firetruck in front, but didn't see the truck being there..unless, its the where gets out of the jeep to check the dead woman on the road. Have to watch it again and pick out all the different areas.

Wonder if the whole police station will be used this time, meaning they'll have to re-do the west wing, as it was not used in OB2. And can't see them travelling the same areas as Jill and Carlos.

So the front of the police station is new and not from Outbreak huh? That's good then. That means they will be re-doing the inside.

Not sure on the outside, it did look a bit iffy to me...meaning they may only re-make sections of the R.P.D. that were absent from OB2.

I compared the front of the police station with the Umbrella Chronicles one. They are the same.

I thought the same thing, why I said it looks a bit "iffy".

Hopefully the other areas will all be re-done, and added to OB's areas(inside the R.P.D.)

It's funny, a week or two before this game was announced, I was seriously thinking about selling my Nintendo Wii. But now that it has been announced, plus the other 2 ports, I have decided to keep the Wii. We will probably get more info on this game this summer. I hope it is better than Umbrella Chronicles.

I imagine it'll be to Umbrella Chronicles what RE5 is to RE4...an improvement in virtually every area. Since they're actually making the backgrounds from scratch this time and not using the old games ones they won't be curtailed into doing silly things, like the RE3 scenario.

The RE3 scenario of Umbrella Chronicles was pretty shitty. You can tell that it was just plain laziness, and that is why they re-used the Outbreak areas rather than make the proper ones from scratch. On the positive side, you could view the Outbreak areas as fan-service. I can't wait to see the other parts of the police station in the Darkside Chronicles. And who knows, we might actually get to see the monsters that we didn't get to see in UC, such as Mr. X, the plant creatures, the lab lickers, Birkin, the alligator, etc.
