They'll port it to the Wii and add stuff into it, that'll make your RE5X

"We have never included a Versus mode in Resident Evil before, and as well as the costs of development of the feature, there's also additional bandwidth costs associated with it,"

      Yeah...

So how come Valve can release free content for Orange Box and Left 4 Dead for free without worrying about bandwidth costs etc? Capcom is a MUCH larger company than Valve. I guess they're expecting stupid people to fall for their explanation.

I not happy about haveing to pay for the DLC but when you think about this will be the first resident Evil game to have vs mode fighting another person and what Mr Zombie said it will make the game evan more fun you know you come home and all you can think about is going online and fight another person to me Im will to spare acubble of pounds just to be able to do that.

the thing about DLC is you don't have to buy it but yeah 15 dollars for just 3 vs. modes is kind of excessive makes you wonder what they'll charge for weapons/characters...

What is 5 dollars, really? The price of a beer? Pack of Cigarettes? Bus/metro ticket? Seriously, it's pittance. Most of us spend that daily trying to get to work on public transport so if 5 dollars can pay for an unlockable multiplayer mode for a great game, adding in countless hours of replay value, then what the hell. Count me in, and consider me one of the 'sheep' that pays for it.

I misunderstood the title of this thread.
I thought Capcom were defending the 'charges' that their DLC sounds like it sucks.

"I charge you Capcom, with releasing a bizarre choice of DLC, which has no place within a Resident Evil game. How do you plead?"

It's optional downloadable content. You are welcome to purchase it for almost NOTHING in terms of price if you wish.

If you don't agree with paying for extra content or "content that's already on the disc" then you don't have to. Just don't buy it.

People forget that when you purchase a game you merely purchase a license to use it, not the game and contents itself. The delivery medium is irrelevant.

Why are they defending themselves for this?

Eh. Just seems like bitching for the sake of it, if you ask me. I'd understand if it was expensive, but come on, it's pretty much the price of a bus fare. I'm buying.

For me it's not the cost of the upgrade, I will buy it (but first i have to renew xbox live to gold...). It's ok that they add multiplayer to the series, I really like the idea to have Wesker to kick some ass; but I can hear the upcoming hordes of comments like "this game sucks, I can't run and shoot", "4 vs 4, halo can handle a lot more" and so on.

If Capcom wants to milk out fans, they should release more characters for the mercenaries, and why not, be able to use them on the main game. Add there Claire, Leon, Barry or Hunk and they definetly have my money.

Thank you Captain Corporate! Now think of it as a consumer, especially with the fact that the content was finished BEFORE the game's release. This isn't the case with such developers like Valve or say Monolith that's releasing brand new maps for FEAR 2 free of charge.

It's as ridiculous as Namco's charging to Yoda and Vader as DLC even though they're basically on disc.

I don't mind them charging for DLC what I mind is the bullshit excuses they're making for them charging for DLC"if they said because we want your money instead of this it wouldn't have irked me"

I don't see a problem with them releasing optional DLC. Other companies do it all the time. Look at all the Halo 3 DLC. It costs barely anything. Like James said, if you don't like it, don't buy it. There's plenty to do with the amount of content in the game we have already.

I know 5 bucks a person really doesn't add up, but this is extra code that someone had to write, they had to plan and test these game modes so that we will like them and want to pay for it. People worked to make this DLC, and capcom needs our money to pay them.

Then why didn't they just say that? Anyway I ain't got nothing against Capcom I just hate when companies make excuses for themselves because people complained. It gets annoying
