$5 is cheap for four new modes isn't it? I don't understand why people are bitching so much.

I think it's down to the fact that people enjoy complaining about it. That, and the fact that they want it free, especially in this economic crisis.
And I wasn't surprised at all that they want money for the game modes, since people in Capcom obviously worked on it, therefore, they are liable to ask for money for their hard work, aren't they? It's like buying a house (the house being RE5) and then needing work to be done on said house to improve it to your personal tastes. You would be charged for the work, would you not? Same applies here. Every company will charge for this much new content, and there's nowt wrong with that, as long as it's a good price and $5 is very good for what we're gonna get.Last edited by Henry Spencer; 03-18-2009, 03:45 PM.

We need a face palm smiley here. $5 is nothing since I spend more money on coffee per day than that, it's the fact the content in question was completed prior to the game going gold as evidenced by the strategy guide. The real reason is that they either went over their original budget or simply trying to milk the game for all it's worth. Do you really expect Capcom of any company for that matter no to defend their stance?
If you think Japanese developers, aside from producers aren't underpaid, think again. They work hard and pull off overtime and don't see a cent aside from their salaries.
Of course, this is nothing compared to 97's RE DC pressing "error" fiasco that some felt, rightfully, screwed over since they bought the game for the uncut intro.

something strange just happened to me: I was on the PSN and saw a free DLC Titan pack for Unreal Tournamet 3 and wasn't expecting much I mean it's free right?Well when I went to the download screen and saw that it was 552 MB and I know that can't be an unlock code I also learned it adds two new characters to the roster of playable characters so now I'm very curious as to why Capcom's charging for DLC modes while Midway isn't(since Midway needs money more than Capcom)Last edited by ValentineKnight; 03-20-2009, 10:37 PM.

The full game itself while the guide being written wasn't complete to begin with, and the guide is meticulous about the mode so it's not just a mention with some little hints. So no, they're just milking it for all it's worth, and granted, it's better than re-releasing the game with those extras tacked on as the "definitive" version.
Look at the U3 example that ValentineKnight mentioned; it's a substantial update that's free. If anything, Epic/Midway should've are in a better position to charge since all of the content was worked on well after the game's release. They also happen to be a fraction of Capcom's size.
