Great, now they'll pull what they did with DMC4. That is, they'll combine both PS3 and 360 SKU's are a single title on their million seller chart to proclaim it one of the most successful titles in the series.

There is when the different SKU's of past titles were counted separately.

None of them were ever released at the same time, though. So I guess they have a decent reason to do so, but I'd still love for them to separate the SKUs.

That said, their million seller chart is no longer on their website. I hope it's not permanent.

^ Yes it is CVX. The list was recently updated to reflect the company sales up until Dec 31st, 2008.

The Platinum list was changed mainly to also multiple pages which contain visuals of the Japanese packshot, a screenshot, and a FLV video of the game, besides the overall list page.

Titles which sold more than 1 million copies each are listed with videos and screen shots.

The overall sales for the companies franchises is now here as well:

Total sales units of major titles such as "Resident Evil" and "Onimusha" are described.

Holy fuck, that's a lot of copies right there, and that's great for Capcom's part. All that is needed now is some excellent dlc (map packs for mercs, ala classis variations of the mansion, raccoon city, even other areas and familar characters etc) and it would just make the experiance even more awesome. I hope for new weapons too.

as CVX said, this is probably the first simultaneous multiformat RE release .. and the info savvy people can look into this kinda stuff themselves with the media creates and the NPD's and whatnot ..

it's not like rockstar made press releases on how the sales of GTA IV were distributed between the PS3 and 360 either :p

that being said 4 million is a VERY high number, much higher then i was expecting, even if it's just "shipped".

                    Shipped doesn't mean sold...

SF4 shipped a lot, but hasn't sold very well

shipped is still sold to retailers, so capcom still got their units out as far as they were concerned ..

Uhh, no it isn't. You're talking about re-releases, different games altogether such as RE: Directors Cut or whatnot. It's perfectly fine to count a multi-platform simultaneous release together.

I wasn't, I meant actual different console versions (counting RE1 for both Saturn and PS1 etc.) not budget SKU's or upgrades that are typically considered different titles/SKU's.

The difference this time as noted is the simultaneous release so I suppose it makes sense. I still prefer SKU's to be counted separately though.

That's good news for Capcom I guess.

Cool, thanks. It seems as if they had moved it to a different part of the website than before. It used to be in IR Presentation Materials. Awesome.
