Resident Evil 6 Not Coming Anytime Soon

Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata recently made a comment that the next numbered game in the series could take anywhere between four to eight years to complete.

“We haven’t decided whether we’re going to make Resident Evil 6 yet. But if we do, it could take anywhere up to eight years, but hopefully only four.”

This is certainly not unexpected as both Resident Evil 4 and 5 had nearly 4 years worth of development time too.

Thank God for this. As far as I'm concerned, Resident Evil's important stories came to an end in RE5.

On topic... it's Capcom... more spinoff's and re-releases for everyone till the next game!

Seriously though, between RE4 and 5 Capcom were actually the most reserved about the number of releases. 2005-2008 have seen the least amount of releases in the series each year than any time prior.

This is actually good news because by then the so called "xbox 720" and "ps4" will come out plus as a added bonus, the new High-definition tvs will come! Yeah the resolution will be somewhere around 2140p to 2410p!! Cant wait!! Im saving money right now for the future.

You should be saving for other matters, but Ultra HD shouldn't be one of them. It's still an experimental resolution with a target of actually 7680×4320 and anything can change (emphasis on experimental).

Bear in mind that HD isn't even remotely mainstream despite being on the rise, so no broadcaster will be eager to embrace yet another HD format that requires people to upgrade TV's yet again anytime in the next decade (certainly not when the new consoles arrive). Hell, 1080p hasn't been on the mass market for 3 years yet.

What you should be looking forward to is mass produced OLED ;)
