      Not new characters, But the new stuff on the rebirth mode is cool, plus the extras.

          using local wifi ( ad.hoc mode ), there is a coop mode and a versus mode.
          Read some review for the game, it's one of the best games on DS in my opinion

            I would take this news with a grain of salt.

            Shortly after the original Dead Rising weas announced, the developers claimed there would be hundreds, if not thousands of zombies on-screen at once. Well, Dead Rising has been out a long while now, and I surely don't remember a single place in the game where there were literally hundreds of zombies...

              If it does happen, then it'll probably do what Kameo did, and use sprites, or (really) low quality models anyway, for the distance

                Well, Dead Rising has been out a long while now, and I surely don't remember a single place in the game where there were literally hundreds of zombies...
                the tunnels at the end had 'em, hundreds of 'em. Atleast that's how I remember it. Hell sometimes, during the night times the main mall would be jam packed with zombies too, and looking at the place from a higher POV would let you see hundreds on screen at once ..

                  I suspect they'll try something similar to Outbreak - simply mirror 3d models to appear in different places at once, for distance of course.

                    Remember two years ago when Capcom licensed U3 engine? It wasn't used in any games yet, so this could be it.

                    I somehow doubt that this will be a polished effort like the original. Working on 3 versions for such a small developer is always tough.

                          MULTIPLAYER OMFG!!!

                          I love Dead Rising... but now I'll enjoy it with friends. Priceless.

                          6000 zombies? Hope that's achievable; I loved going thru hordes of undead with a chainsaw / katana.

                            Yeah, now that I think about, I believe you're right; there were a lot of zombies in that (particularly fun to play) area. Hmmm... thousands, though? It would be one hell of a accomplishment, even by pulling technical tricks such as mirroring the models and making them low-poly.

                            It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

                              Yeah. The tunnels at the end of Dead Rising pulled some massive on-screen counts for the zombies, but I think you actually get more zombies on-screen in the service tunnel/garage thingy underneath the mall. (wouldn't be surprised if you reach near-200-ish at times there)

                              And, as for pulling off 6000... I'd say it's probably entirely possible. There's a PS2 game that bragged about pulling "thousands of enemies" called "Demon Chaos (EU) / Ikusagami (JP)". Here's a gameplay video on YouTube. Uses some filthy tricks to keep track of the masses, but still... pretty impressive.
