Why they compare RE5 to Gears Of War every time???... oh christ, if you wanna play a game like Gears just... play that damn game!
I'm sick of editors complaining about the RE5's control scheme... morons.
And however none uses the cover system while playing deathmatch modes online of Gears 2, they just run and shoot... that's just a mess of game mode where every second a player dies, nothing more nothing less, there's no tactic.
Every day I'm reading around the net how RE5 is RE4.5 and how his control scheme sucks, but why none is claiming about how Gears 2 is identical to the first one, and how the matchmaking system of Gears 2 sucks so bad compared with the previous one.
Actually Gears 2 is a backward step (the first one was a way better) and offers nothing new...ok, RE5 is not a big revolution but it's a good evolution of RE4.
Stop comparing Gears to Resi, IGN pleas stop acting like idiots.

It's actually on the official 3CD OST. The Mercenaries music is tracks 21-27 on CD 3 (the last seven tracks on the third disc).

                The tracks are entitled:

                21. Colors
                22. Assault Fire
                23. Dreamy Loops
                24. On The Bass
                25. Rust in Summer
                26. KILLERS
                27. Do You Challenge Again?

Ahahah. Oh yes! Nothing is better than someone always comparing something to something else when they're completely different.

I'm not gonna say that I don't tend to compare things to other things to give an indication of what something is or what something is not, but seriously... expecting the Resident Evil 5 Versus modes to be closely resembling like Gears of War 1-2, especially after having played Resident Evil 5 and Gears of War, is complete journalistic incompetence and ignorance.

Its funny how IGN said The characters aren't balanced for competitive play. It just seems completely lazy, like Capcom thought "add two more players and charge $5" instead of "how can we make an incredible competitive experience?" What did they expect from capcom. I think they did a good job on RE 5 and can say the production values of the game are great but when it comes to milking a franchise, well you get stuff like this.

My question is; WHY should they be more balanced?

Part of the fun in certain games' multiplayer modes is the very fact that some of the characters just aren't balanced, at all. Not to mention how that's a rather great thing when you play couch potato multiplayer with your friends. It's the variety of each character that is part of the charm.

(though, I do think there are a few things that should've been brushed up a bit in general in RE5's main scenario. But the multiplayer is somewhat fine "as-is", although I'd love to have some other familiar faces added to the soup)

...because if the characters aren't balanced most folk will only play the ones that are hideously overpowered?
