  • Who wants toast? (RE5 360 Versus Redeem code & 20$ PSN Card)

    Hi, everyone!

While I was leaping through time and space (to get a chance to play Bionic Commando at the Capcom Europe office) I received a free Resident Evil 5 Versus redeem code for the 360. As I already have the Versus DLC, and I think it's about time my little brother starts paying for stuff he wants, I figured it should get a new home within the community, where it'll hopefully get the love and appreciation it deserves.
    [edit]
Okay, so Dot50Cal has thrown in an alternative for you PS3 owners out there.
You may choose to get a $20 US PSN card in stead of the DLC card.
Now, bring us some more of those sandwiches, kthx!

    [/edit]

So here's your chance to either be a cheap bastard or a lucky winner (maybe both)

I've been told it should work fine for both US and EU users, so hopefully that means it should work perfectly smooth worldwide, regardless of which marketplace your account is tied to.

As we all know, Barry Burton has been missing in action for a long time now. Wesker didn't even want to talk about him in The Umbrella Chronicles. So... to make sure he's not forgotten I figured we could try to lure him out with a delicious sandwich. He needs to fill his manly beard with crusts and crumbs, and evt. feel the awesomeness of having his stache broom across the toppings on a delicious piece of pastry.

So what I want you to do is to take a personal picture of the Jill Sandwich you've made for breakfast/lunch/whatever and attach it to a reply/comment submitted to this newspost.

Sandwiches made by parents, partners or friends are welcome too! Just keep in mind that if it's a winner; they will then have an awesome weekend, alone, with Barry Burton, while you're just stuck with a DLC code for a game mode you've got no friends to play in (Okay! So maybe someone on THIA will pity you and join you in a game or two )

    The rules are simple:

    1: It must be edible.
-After the viral outbreaks, Barry probably doesn't trust anyone or anything. Not even his own lunchbox.
So make sure you've worked your way through a solid chunk of the sandwich so we know it's safe.
We might monitor your post count after you've submitted your picture,
just to make sure you're not trying to cheat both us and death!

    2: Picture w/username!
-Yes. I said it before and I say it again; there must be a picture of it.
Sorry to all the non-camera owners out there, but words can deceive!
We can't move in without a nice verified photo w/username (or other identifying signature) in it.

    3: Share your secret!
-I wanna know how you made it or who made and what's on/in it.
Be honest about it! You may use nicely flavored words (as seen on a Danish lunch menu) to make it sound even more delicious.

Note: I know Barry is a man's man and all that, but he's hopefully not gonna reject a good sandwich if it's only made of green and healthy stuff. So huge piles of meat onto of meat isn't necessity.

I'll try to round up the guys to help me declare a winner once we've got a nice selection going! (But we need to let this roll for a while before we declare a winner, of course. So people get a chance to participate. But it shouldn't be long. Not gonna be a month or anything like that.)

Sorry about only being able to secure you one code (which kinda was meant for me), but maybe we'll be able to do a Round #2 in the future and have some other Resident Evil stuff we could give away!
    ('cause we're easily bored )

Well, this sure kept me busy for 5 minutes! I already own the Versus DLC but making a bigass sandwhich at 4pm was just too tempting to turn down.

Second picture here, don't want to clog up the page with giant images.

As you can see, it dwarfs Chris and his massive biceps. A real man's sandwhich!

    INGREDIENTS

Full loaf malted farmhouse bread (400g loaf, sliced)
    Sliced baby tomatoes
    Cucumbers
    Mature cheddar cheese
    Flora spread
    Branston Pickle

I'm away at school and have no such thing as a refrigerator, delicious cold cuts, nutricious bread, scrumptious condiments or tantalizing toppings. If I were at home, though, I'd make my famous grilled goddamn cheese...or possibly a smoked turkey, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and light mayo on toasted white bread with the crust cut off, with a side of waffle pretzels and a can of bubbly Diet Pepsi.

                          DAMMIT, I'M HUNGRY.

For those who'd rather not wait to see it, you can make your very own Bacon-Burger-Dog by using these simple ingredients:

-1lb. of ground beef to make the burger
-2 red hot dogs (you can use white hot dogs, though I personally like to use Polish sausage); split them lengthwise down the middle, and place them on top of the burger
-3 or 4 strips of bacon (or however many it takes to wrap around the burger and hot dogs)
-smother it all in melted cheese (usually American, but you can use whatever kind you prefer), and place it on a hamburger bun

This is not included in the original recipe, but a nice twist is to add seasoned fries on top of the meat and cheese. I'll see if I can get a pic either tomorrow or Saturday.

Sounds pretty good! I'll make it for dinner next week.
