IGN Previews Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles + New Screenshots

With the embargo lifted on last week's CAPTIVATE event, IGN has posted a preview for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles along with several new screenshots showing off some familiar faces and enemies. Overall, the preview sounded quite positive, which should hopefully be a good sign.

Kotaku has posted a brief interview with producer Masachika Kawata and Cavia's Kentaro Noguchi in which they express their desire to create some of the best graphics ever seen on the Wii as well as their overall design philosophy regarding The Darkside Chronicles.

Birkin looks so cool. The skinless Zombies look pretty damn creepy. I'm pleased with the Lickers and Mr. X. The G-Mutant is damn creepy as well.

The Birkin picture made my day, and the RPD Main Hall looks beautiful.


Despite forum fears, it does seem that Capcom's intent on delivering an experience that offers genuine appeal to Resi fans, light-gun game or otherwise. While certain aspects – including locations, story elements and specific characters - are still officially under wraps, Capcom assures there will be plenty of nods to the classic series. Indeed, the game's trailer provided glimpses of familiar enemies, including everyone's favourite big bad Tyrant. No word yet on whether Tofu's back, but we can but hope...

I love that grin MR X had on his face im still glad they use the RE2 model and not the outbreake or UC model and William is really really looking good those two have also made my day I caint wait to see the rest of William's mutatuons.

I can't wait to see the CODE: Veronica stuff - but this is looking damned nice! If only this amount had care and attention had gone into UC. Even the fact that it's the actual voice actors for the right characters (such as Ada) help proceedings.
