  • Resident Evil 5 - Union Square Launch Party Documentary

Our good friend Wesker from Survivhor has sent us a high quality version of his launch party documentary. The video follows the launch event in San Fransisco where several team members (including Jun Takeuchi) show up and sign autographs.

Please give some feedback on this one guys, as it took a long time to create as well as shoot all this footage. If you want to stream the video, check out the Resident Evil 5 video page, or you can download a high resolution version below.

I enjoyed it; always good to see that Capcom throws down for these kinda events. What would have been cool is if there was footage of the attendants' thoughts of the event/RE5/RE in general, but I can't imagine that being a simple process in terms of releasing it to the public. Nonetheless it was shot and edited very well. The footage was all clear. Were they giving out Uroboros themed candies/drinks?

that was pretty amazing, a little too much shaky-cam at times, but amazing none the less. A lot of Suzuki fans in the audience

          Downloading now.

I'm a fan of the Bourne trilogy so the shaky camera is not an issue for me.

It wasn't even shakey at all, considering how bustling the area was.
            Nice video, thanks for uploading.

Thanks for the nice words, guys

@GuardhouseMusic: there were some M&M, repackaged as "Antidote":

@A-J & TyrackT71: Sorry about the shakiness, but I have only a small camcorder, not a steadycam. Speaking of, one of my classmate bought a steadycam-kit (HD camera, steadycam gear, transport-box) for the small amount of $10K... if you want to offer me one, I'll be glad to accept it but I can't put this kind of money in video gear, at the moment

Awesome vid man. My only feedback is next you're going to upload pictures, use the far superior Tinypic instead of Imageshack tbqh.

One thing I might also suggest is to look into the various recording modes your camera has. I know Ice's HD camera has the ability to shoot "1080p 24FPS", however when you rip it, its not actually 1080p. In addition, it de-interlaces the footage with a "blend", so you get slight ghosting, which might explain what I saw on your video.

the people didn't sound very excited when the Japanese makers were being introduced. Also, why such the 360 support? Oh , it's cos it's Gamespot and it's in the USA.

@LVL100 Merchant: thanks for the tip

@Dot: There are several problems with my camcorder:
                          1) it's a Canon - Canon use a proprietary format which is not recognized by my Mac. I had to buy a shareware to convert this @#$% format
The point is, the video clip I am editing is not a raw format, but a compressed one. When my editing is done, I have to re-compress it so I can upload it somewhere on internet. 2 compressions = lack of quality
                          2) As you know, I had trouble to find a format which you can view. I ended up using "Photo Jpeg" which is as bad as it sounds
                          3) Finally, my Canon vixia HF100 HD is not a true HD camera - the seller warned me so there is no catch. While I did choose to shot in 24 frames per second (to give a cinema look to my footage) the maximum size I can use to record is 1920 x 1080i. I don't have 1080p available in this camcorder.
Here is the preview window I got with my shareware when I capture the video clips:

Now, even with all these problems, I am very happy with this camcorder. Picture is very bright and crisp, which is what I wanted in the first place I am currently playing with the focus, and I am really amazed by the results The whole point of this message is that my next video review (for Dark Chronicles? ) will be better

I haven’t watched the video yet, Dot, but there’s something about the “Thursday, March 12, 2009” image you posted that’s kinda creepy. I think it reminds me of George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead. The palm trees…the sepia tone…the complete lack of people… All that’s missing is an old newspaper blowing in the wind with the headline “The Dead Walk!” If "Wesker" had called out on a bullhorn, I wonder if the dead would have come crawling out, along with a giant alligator?

                              "Get to da choppa!!!"
