  • The Darkside Chronicles "Talking Evil" Blog - "Claire’s Presence"

The Darkside Chronicles's blog has been updated. This week's character focus is Claire Redfield, and the entry discusses mainly about how she fits into the Resident Evil story.

...Perhaps it is this way because the women are generally portrayed as weak and defenseless, and seeing them being chased increases the feeling of oneness with that character, and thus the sense of fear.
Not to mention there's always an excuse to have them scantily clad while doing so. Speaking of which, I kind of wish they mentioned why they decided to update Claire's outfit. There was nothing wrong with her original RE2 clothes.

Overall... interesting blog post. I enjoyed what they said about Claire. Also, I had a big smile on my face when they praised Alyson Court's immense talent. God, I'm so excited to hear her voice Claire again.

Going into the voice recording, we thought about how a regular girl thrown into a town writhing with the undead would react, how the fear would affect her breathing, and how she would scream. So it was with this direction in mind that we had Alyson consider all of these things when delivering her lines. We wanted to convey from the mere sound of her voice, the terror Claire was feeling.
This pleased me a lot. Looks like we may be getting actual human emotion from them in this game, that was one of my problems with UC.
"Oh look, dead comrade. Shame we can't spend time together anymore. *bang* *moves on*"

I'm really looking forward to Darkside Chronicles.

Claire is anything but an average civilian/college student.

To me, Claire is one of the most interesting characters in the Resident Evil universe. I personally have always really liked her as a character..
He's not the only one who thinks so I think everyone finds Claire to be very interesting infact to me she is the most interesting character from starting out as your civilian aka college student and become's a fighter after the incendent that's alot for changeing for Claire to go though.

Claire is my favourite character cause she is a civilian. This is so much cooler than being a STARS or a cop, it was really harder for her.

              She's lucky to be alive

Very interesting read, I'm a huge fan of Alyson Court's acting career and I'm always nervous when Claire is returning that Alyson may not, but I guess I have to give her more credit. She sure is dedicated.

It's a pretty interesting read but nothing really new was given to us.

I feel the same way. In fact, I feel like I'm a bit spoiled ever since Degeneration came out and Alyson was given the opportunity voice Claire again. Before there was any direct confirmation of Alyson's return, I was fully expecting her not to return, because it had been so many years since CODE: Veronica. However, Capcom managed to get her back, and now that Alyson is voicing Claire again in DSC, I almost feel like one day, if Capcom isn't able to get her, I'll be beyond devastated after being spoiled by her continual returns for so long.

And since they split up (I assume), you'll need to play as both to get the full story.

                          Just like the real RE2.

The intro to CODE: Veronica says otherwise.

I like the civilian angle as well, but in Claire's case, I wouldn't say she's one completely. Being Chris's sister and all she's been exposed to defense and stuff like that. So she's at least prepared TO defend if the case arises. That's why stuff in the trailer like her tripping over a mfing Licker excites me. Because even though she's prepped to defend, she's not prepared for a huge thing like the outbreak.

"On the set, Alyson BECAME the young Claire again from 1998"
dkfjdgdlkfd omg this makes me so happy and excited.
