  • Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Gameplay Footage

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is playable at this year's E3, and the gameplay footage has slowly started to make its way onto the net. The first video is from Gamekyo, and it is an offscreen look at the CODE: Veronica scenario. The second video is straight from Capcom, and it shows an early portion of the RE2 scenario.

    *UPDATE*

Another gameplay video from Capcom has surfaced, and this one shows an early portion of the CODE: Veronica scenario. It is much better quality than the gameplay video Gamekyo posted.

To view the footage, follow this link.

Have you noticed the incredible ammount of smoothness, lighting effects and detail in the graphics? It's insane. If I didin't new nothing about this I could perfectly say it's some new 360 title.

        Loving this so far!

Kawata did say that they wanted to 1up Dead Space and Silent Hill in the on-rails department.

I guess they're on the right... track.

Graphically it's impressive for a wii game
However, Anyone else notice, how much Capcom has been recycling parts of there games recently? This is the 3rd time they've released games with that same red 9 model, and Steven is nothing more then a re-skinned model of Leon...

Both videos looks amazing. Does anyone have a transcript of what they're saying in it? I couldn't make out everything Steve said when they ran into his zombie-cellmate. But it sounds amazing, especially how they seem to keep the whole Steve being cocky and Claire just being like AUGH at the start. ♥ Omfg.

Lol @ 1:15-1:30 on the RE2 gameplay. Another Leon fail.

Gameplay looks really interesting for both scenarios. I am especially excited for CVX's scenario. It looks really nice.

God, I cannot wait for this game!

Oh Leon you so smart. Though I do like how you sort of "feel" the effect of that, too.

Also, was it my imagination, or did it actually take a few shots to blow up the barrel? Cause I sort of love that.

Yeah I love the fact that Leon (rightfully so) seems green in the RE2 scenario. Claire's helping him out just as much as he's helping her.

While it is lame that they did basically re-skin Leon's character model, Steve WAS basically a replacement for Leon in the first place.

Also, found it weird how he kept going "OH HEY RICKY, ANTONIO, etc." to the zombies. I mean I get they were his cellmates but still, it seems kinda ... odd.

Either way, still feel very happy with this, and feel that it'll be well worth the money

Whaaaat? Really? I can't make out any dialogue in that video. Regardless... seems like typical Steve Burnside to me. *laughs* That is, of course, until he finds his zombie!father. Speaking of which, I hope they include that scene in one of the scenarios. I'd very much like to see it redone.

Yeah I got that much from the trailer too. That part was hard to hear but I got Claire asking him about his cellmate(s) and he said he could barely recognize them anymore. Then the first zombies you see next he goes "hey [whatever the name was] long time no see." Then he says more and Claire is just like STFU.

But yeah, idk. It read Steve to me, as asstastic as it is, but then again, the coping method and all. And that at the start of CV he was a lot about the putting on the cool and badass face, so it makes sense. I like how they did that though, it brings is more of a he knew these people once which wasn't a vibe we got in CV really, other than daddy.

^Tooooootally agree. Hellz yes. This also makes me relieved to know they are keeping the core of Steve's personality the same. The immature attitude that Steve brings off is, ironically, what I always liked so much about him, and it would crush me if they changed him into being some calm and collective wonderboy.

That's true, it WAS very Steve-like. But I already can tell I'll like him more than his original incarnation, if only for the lack of that god-awful VA he originally had. Plus, maybe he'll be less of a jackass in this.

Hm...perhaps the Gold Lugers will be a weapon for him?

Either way, the C:V sections look like Gun Survivor 2 done right if you ask me.
