Damnit, i really hope this guy just means different from RE4/5.

Hopefully it turns out to be something truly unique. The Resident Evil franchise is beginning to feel a little stagnant.
Haha! I love this line, after only two games in the new style, RE is already stagnant, just goes to show how bad it really is.

I really really hope this guy is someone who has never played a classic game and that this turns out to be a classic style game.

Well, I would hope so...the whole over-the-shoulder aiming style wouldn't map too well on the PSP.

Since when did this guy become the final word on Resident Evil? And who says he's only talking about RE4 and RE5? The series as a whole is becoming stagnant because that's what happens when you've been using the same storyline for 12 years, over the course of seven main games(0, 1, 2, 3, C:V, 4, 5).

Well, technically CVX is a sidestory.

        But yeah.

        ...Lumines: Mansion Music?

Wow, that was a horrible attempt.

Different can mean pretty much anything, depending on who exactly is comparing it to what. Needless to say though, the fact that it's not a port or remake has me feeling tingly in my pants area.

Well, this should be interesting. A game totally different from previous RE games...

Alright, we all know what this is. Barry's Sandwhich Shop or Barry's Pretty Princess Dress Me Up. Barry dresses up various girls from RE in pretty clothes (hence the Ada image) The Highest difficult level is to make Barry himself glorious!

Remember, this interview is probably focused on casual gamers or people who just played RE4/5.

So it's still likely that it's a classic style game. Hopefully.

He didn't, I'm just saying it didn't take long for game journalists and reviewers to say that the RE series is getting stagnant again.

                    Resident Evil dating sim?

The comments are from Chris Kramer btw, so I wouldn't read too much into them.

being designed specifically with the PSP GO! in mind
So does this mean that it will be released only for the PSP GO!, or also the PSP-1000/2000/3000?
The PSP GO! seems a bit expensive to buy just for one game.

(Btw, I know the picture features a normal PSP)

Keep fighting the good fight there, champ.

The reason people think RE is stagnant is because so many games copied the basic RE4 gameplay formula and have tweaked it or improved upon it since its release. Then comes RE5 some four years later, and it has done little to improve upon the RE4 gameplay template. People were a little more forgiving of this kind of development philosophy with the older RE games, because there was only a year to two years tops between each title, and they were generally on the same platform.

However, as I already mentioned there was a good four years between the release of RE4 and RE5, not to mention the jump to a whole new generation of consoles. So it's a bit different now, but whatever helps you sleep at night.

Considering the PSP only has one analog stick (or nub, as it were), and you still can't move and shoot at the same time in RE4 and RE5, I actually think that style of gameplay would work fairly well on the PSP.

Come to think of it, yeah, it would work out okay. Move with the left stick, draw your weapon with L/R and lose the ability to move, and the stick would take over for aiming controls. I dunno, we'll see I guess.

Resident Evil: The Game even less canon than Gaiden

                            That's my bet.

But seriously, the statement that it's "totally different" from the other games has me laughing. Either it's an exaggeration, the type of clueless statement that we're used to hearing from Chris Kramer, or it really is something completely different and likely not worth it.

So seemingly it won't be a classic RE, or a new school RE. this dampens my enthusiasm quite a bit!

Oh God not another RE portable game! Didnt anyone learn from Gaiden? Every RE cellphone game or portable game i have ever played with the exception of Degeneration for the Ipod Touch have been awful to say the least. Capcom really needs to stop with these BS side games, and portable realeases and focus on doing something for the true fans of the franchise, like an RE2 remake or how about a game with ACTUAL ZOMBIES! Though i enjoyed RE4 and RE5, killing ganados and majini isnt scary for one and having similar bosses from RE4 and RE5 was just stupid and dissapointing to say the least. Dark Side Cronicles looks OK, but the potential for the RE2 remake is there i don't see why they arent doing it.
