The blog update for RE: TDC this week switches focus to another character: Steve Burnside.

It talks about his relationship with Claire among other topics. Apparently he will have a more modern makeover, without tarnishing his original look.

Steve will be given a more modern makeover, without tarnishing his original look. In addition to some extra “wild” touches, we are incorporating minute details that make him a more realistic looking prisoner. There was also the question of what Umbrella’s original purpose was for having this facility. This time around, to a certain degree we try to convey a sense that the prisoners are being supervised.

Nice little detail here I hope that will shead more light on Rockfort Island.

With his slender build, red haired, thin face, Steve is one of the more attractive men in the Resident Evil universe. Perhaps because of his young age, Steve was well received by women; at the time of Code: Veronica, he was quite popular.

^Yeah, my reaction to that sentence as well. I know Steve is considerably more liked by females, but I would never classify Steve as "popular" during any timeline for the fanbase.

Great analysis overall, though. Described Steve just as I see him, and I appreciated the positive comments about his character. Makes me even more hopeful they will be retaining Steve's original personality.

I hope that we'll get a closure on Steve. After CVX it wasn't clear if he's dead or not.

I'm pretty sure he's dead, Wesker's intention of taking his body was for the sole reason for it having the T-Veronica virus sample in it, his line about "steve coming back to see claire" was pretty retarded and I hope doesn't lead to a stupid plot device.

I always just assumed Wesker said that merely to get Claire's goat, so to speak, and not because he had any real intention of bringing Steve back from the dead.

I think it's quite obvious that capcom intended in using that "steve coming back to see claire" thing, it was to clear for a misunderstand, but seems like they don't whant that idea any more

Oh my God yes a whole blog entry for Steve. THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY! ♥ A lot of people actually really liked Steve, on the female end of the fanbase (not counting obnoxious rabid shipper fangirls).

And omg the tough guy exterior and dfkljsdklfjskl this entry is just so Steve and I am so happy they go into his character like this. It is such a reminder to me about how much I loved him in the games.
