Can anyone confirm this? I've heard conflicting things. I heard that it looks no different than playing the gamecube game on your wii via component (or the gamecube via component). I also read in another forum that the image was blurry as a result of the progressive scan.

Currently I'm playing REmake Gamecube on the wii via component cables on an HDTV. It looks better than I thought it would. Blurry, yes, but that's just a resolution issue.

The reason i got it was for collections sake as i've started becoming a collector, for a wii game at £18 not bad considering new wii games are nearly £30/£40 on their first release day and i ain't opened mine yet and i don't intend too

Some GC games already have 480P just hold down B during boot up.
Both SD-Boot & GCOS also have the ability to force any game into 480P via soft-mod.
Other than the Wii controls I see no reason to purchase it but then again people would buy dog turd if it had a resi evil label stuck into it.

Yes. I just did. Running on an 480p capture card, it is very good looking.

          1) Glitchy as all hell
          2) Very few games work perfectly
          3) Too much effort for a lack of results

I honestly can't tell the difference between those 480p screens and the normal look of the game.

                t.
Few GC games support that. None of the RE ones do.

Also, what's 'chibby?' Like semi-fat? It's a little squished, but that's most like a result of PAL/NTSC pixels to regular pixels.

Im really glad the remake got a great score like this after being seven years old, mabey this will show capcom that they need to put the horror back in Resident Evil.

That's supposed to 480P more like fuzzy washed out composite.

Imagine if this game was re-rendered at 720P. How gorgeous would that still be? Entirely possible. Some textures would have to be updated by they could get by with most.

One could dream of an HD remix. Will never happen in the next ten years though.

I think the game looks great and plays great, even if you have the original GC version I still highly recomend getting this game and its real cheep to only being at $30 in the United States. I personaly think that this is one of the better Resident Evil games setting the mood and having a great atmosphere for a survival horror game. This is and will always be a classic in the seires (not as much as the original but still a classic), If you do not have this game yet then shame on you and get it as soon as you can. There is a reason after 7 years it still gets a great review so everyone get up and go get a copy of this game.

Because the "normal" look is 480p. 480p isn't magical, it'll look the same as 480i minus the interlacing or the motion blur/loss of detail associated with de-interlacing.

                            It's all Greek to me. I can't tell the difference between 480, 720, 1080, p, i, whatever.

that one's easy, 480 looks like low rez, and 720 is like all high rez and shit ..

Unfortunately I don't have anyway to capture it,
keep in mind there are a lot of fake cables out there too I've gone through loads of fake cables in the past the easiest way to tell is if text appears blurred or pixelated around the edges with double imaging.
