keep in mind there are a lot of fake cables out there too I've gone through loads of fake cables in the past the easiest way to tell is if text appears blurred or pixelated around the edges with double imaging.

I'm using the official Nintendo component cables.

By the way, your comment about it being "fuzzy, washed out composite" is erroneous if you are playing the Gamecube version on 480p on a TV, as TVs generally look "better" than the game actually does. Archives looks drastically different when the cables are in my LCD directly rather than my capture card and played through on the PC.

trust me. Ask my NIN collection but yha anyways i cant find the GC version here so ill probably have to pick this one up insted.
bleh i don't even give a damn about what's rare anymore. if i happen to have an extremely low number of an item that's limited, then i just consider myself lucky.

You sure your capture card isn't running in S-Video?

          Huh? That's stupid.

Component is no different from S-Video overall. The only real difference is the colour balance. The difference in quality will be minimal at best.

Your joking right S-Video is worse than RGB-Scart.

            HDMI / DVI >Component>RGB-Scart>S-Video>Composite>RF

Sorry, no. It's also no different from RGB-Scart aside from the obvious (colour balance etc).

You're barking up the wrong tree if you think the difference is really all that significant.

In my experience I always found component to look a lot better/clearer than s-video. I guess I'm wrong? I've used loads of cables on different TV screens.

I didn't pick this game up yet, but I have been playing the GameCube verion on the Wii. I will still pick the Wii version up for the collection, but playing through the game again, I still like the PlayStation version better. There is a lot of stuff in the remake that just seems totally un-necessary. Namely, the new areas that they added. They were totally un-necessary, and I actually found them to be quite lame. They changed the way you played the game.

Now, instead of going in the underground cavern to get to the lab, you have to go in there, do all of that work, get around Lisa Trevor, get the outer-metal piece that goes around the medal object, and go all the way from Lisa's house through the forest, all the way back to the back of the mansion, and then insert both medals into the bottom door in the main hall. WTF?

That is why you had to do all of that work? Just to get a stupid outer-metal piece so you can combine it with the medal object to open a door?

It sounds totally ridiculous and overdone. I liked the way things were done in the PlayStation version instead, and the PSX version didn't have to get carried away with un-necessary detail to make the game scary and atmospheric.

And another thing, Lisa Trevor, can't understand what the big fascination is with her. I really can't. She was an un-interesting character, and I'd prefer not having to deal with her, but of course they had to add her in for the remake.

Why couldn't they just polish up the graphics, and NOT add the new areas and stupid side quests?

Hmm... I haven't heard anyone complain about the story additions other than you. I found them to be great. Lisa Trevor is a REALLY interesting character and is one of the few 'creatures' in RE that has an emotional background.

because this how the original Resident Evil was meant to be. all the added shit was designed for the original game, but wasn't included at the time. this helped restore the missing parts (which in turn, expanded the game's areas) to make the game feel "complete", as well as being able to see how the original game was to possibly be played - in Real Survival
