And congratulations to Capcom for somehow finding a way to make Steve even more annoying.

This is all so very exciting. Usually I only skim through gameplay videos, but this had my full attention.

Did Steve say they used the computers for games and porn? I lawl'd.

So far, I really like the dialogue between the characters. Far less awkward and doesn't sound as ad-libbed as Umbrella Chronicles.

The new encounter with "Alexia" was very creepy and well-done. I'm glad they're reusing "Berceuse" as it is and haven't rerecorded it. I always liked the way it was.

What I like about the atmosphere (as they mentioned in one of the blogs) of CVX is that now the scenery isn't the only aspect evocative of supernatural/gothic horror. You have a blond-haired woman in a purple dress singing a lullaby in a dark rainy night, and almost as if by "her" summoning bats fly out of a grating and hell hounds attack.

Loving the story and music so far, but the gameplay not so much. Somebody tell Capcom that shaking the screen constantly isn't scary, It's just annoying as hell. Also loved the Alexia part that was classic the original could have done with more of that. I always thought the story was amazing for Code Veronica but they just didn't get it right, Kinda like Res5. Can't wait to see more.

Anyone find the zombie chewing sounds funny right outside the cabin in the first video? I think it's the zombie eating sounds from RE 1-3. It sounds horribly out of date but is a funny reference.

Oh my God this is amazing. Love the computer line. I also LOVE how even though a lot of it is Claire being so orz at Steve, that he has his own ... orzes back at her, ala "now I have to deal with this girl's power trip on top of everything else."

I am absolutely loving the talking between characters. That is one thing I find as a really big up about this game, and it really gives it that more realistic feeling. And I love how they have scattered zombies with the prisoner chokers.

Good atmosphere, can't see why people are bitching over Steve's voice, different actor, but you can't really improve on a character who was a childish twat to begin with.

Annoyed that some scenes were skipped by the players though.

The "Alexia" intro scene was pretty eerie though.

While I like the experience, I'm worried about the game itself. For a rail-shooter it's so slow and there's too much talking and wandering around and too less shooting. Running away and shaky camera is good for creating horror atmosphere but is bad for the gameplay.

I like that Alexia scene. While pointless (why would Alfred, dressed as Alexia, stand there and sing the lullaby?) it was eerie and thanks to that it gave Claire and Steve the reason to look through Ashofrd's mansion.

It's not his voice that I was complaining about.

From about 2:30 to about 4:30 in that first video there is no gameplay. You're just waiting for Claire and Steve to go to the next chance to shoot things.

It might work well the first time you play, but I can see it being really tedious on repeated playthroughs. Some random encounters, or different scripted events on higher difficulty levels could break up the tedium, but I can't see it happening. UC suffered from terrible segments like that. There were also parts in UC where the character would glance around, giving you a chance to pick up an item you may have missed. But if you picked it up, you'd just be waiting for the next event. A good example I can think of is where Wesker is on the train in Russia. At the end of that stage, he wastes alot of time just looking around the carriage. Hopefully they can tidy it up a bit, so if you've grabbed an item, then it skips the looking back part.

                            Part 3, 0:08 - did I see a Majini's rush animation there?

I think it's good that they've removed the inane shooting that was required to get good rankings in UC - shooting lights and paintings and chandeliers and things.
I'm not sold on the whole shaky-cam thing. It looks like it could really frustrating to play, and actually hit shoot you want to on screen.

It's not just Steve Leon and Claire talk to much as well, they went over the top with the tension.
