I don't care how much they talk about this movie and get people's hopes up, I know that at the end of the day it will be a let down but for some it well be too late. Millions of dollars with be wasted and hopes will be shattered.

The problem with Anderson is that he doesn't know how to "deliver" in his movies. If it's a horror flick (like Event Horizon is suppose to be), he fails to make one feel the fear or anything close to that. If the movie is an action movie, he spends too long setting things up for when the action shows up but it really never does.
He reminds me of Tim Burton... every time you find out about one of is new movies, you get all excited because you read about it and it seems like a good idea and it's all kewl and whatnot. But then you see the movie and you realize by the middle of the movie that Burton lost steam and doesn't know how to end it.
So with these two you end up getting all hot and bothered for nothing.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

Thing is, Burton has cool ideas and you get all worked up about them when you read about it. Yet he more often than not, fails to deliver. I mean look at the new Alice in Wonderland remake/reboot... looks good right? Well, I expect it to start great and then to get bored by the second act just like in his other movies.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

You will, and I will, but there are plenty of folk out there who'll pay to see this people. The mentally ill. The homeless desperate for a warm place for a few hours. Gang bangers looking for a 'scary' movie so he can slip a rufie into a girls soda. Paul Anderson. He personally buys at least 500,000 tickets himself so he can watch Milla on the big screen...
In seriousness, people will buy the tickets to this. It's a little depressing but it'll happen. I just hope this one finally wakes folks up.

Of course, you're not the only one who does this, but this post in particular for some reason just really irked me.

I'm not trying to do that. I admit, I don't get the appeal of the movies at all, but in this case I was mostly just blowing off steam. I simply don't understand how these movies make so much money. They're based on a relatively niche computer game and have nothing that makes them a good story...no well thought out or compelling plot, no great script, not even really exciting action scenes. Some of the characters are fun but they're swamped out of ever doing anything interesting, ever, because the movies are so totally focused on Alice, something that does happen in other movies but is so much more apparent when it's a movie only character crushing the screen time from the characters the franchise is built on. I don't mind people enjoying these things...I can't but people should grab what fun they can (That doesn't involve the misery and suffering of other people or animals) but I am honestly depressed that these movies make money when other movies, movies that are better in every way, fail.
The above were some possible reasons as to how it makes so much money.
