One other thing we aimed for was quality that exceeded the high standards set in Umberella Chronicles. That was an absolute must, and difficult since the cut scenes in Umbrella Chronicles were great.

"Another principle was character expressions and eye movement. Characters that might otherwise look a bit doll-like really come alive when their eyes are moving realistically. I was really happy about that small detail as it added realism to the scenes, specifically in Claire and Steve’s expressions."

This is what made me the happiest, It was really doll-like in UC the eye-movement was
terrible in the CG-scenes...RE0 & RE: Remake did a much better job in them. xD

Thats because they were done by ROBOT who also did the Onimusha 2 and 3 openings (of which both and Zero's hold up very very well). But they also cost mega bucks and take months to produce. So seeing as Capcom isn't even 100% handling the title and they'll be making it at a lower cost, it's not surprising.

Edit - Actually I don't think Robot did the REmake, but they definently did the Zero one. Overall the difference in their work is always in the smallest of details which make a much better overall picture.

I think some of the lip syncing was a bit off UC as well.

Links Digiworks worked on the REmake. They used Eyematic Interfaces' FaceTracker combined with Vicon8 optical motion capture system on that game.

Aha, yes, thanks for reminding me. Again, better company with a higher cost and using more high tech equipment. Probably also a better lengthy timeframe to produce the content as well.

Oh yeah, the remake was treated like a full RE game with a decent budget and the manpower that goes with making such a game. UC was not treated as such the moment Kawata decided not to make it play like RE4 (as it was originally intended) but to just make a 3D shooter.

So you got Links Digiworks using Eyematic in the REmake to do stuff like tracking the character's eyeballs and thus make them look less doll-like.

Looks like they might use something similar or better in DSC... for the cut scenes, that is.

The cut scenes in UC were ok and all I need to think about is the one with Birkin and Wesker and how they make Birkin seem like a wuss. Not suprised that they are tutting their own horn about the great cut scenes in UC but hope they stop these blogs until they reveal new characters.
