I think "looking" like a "South American" is a very loose statement.

If this character were an actual native of South America, with true ethnic ancestry, her complexion would be much darker. In my opinion, if Capcom were to design a character from South America, they'd certainly design him or her to be very native, which I honestly do not think this character looks like. If she is from South America, she's certainly a result of the colonization period, with Spanish or French heritage.

From the looks of it, there ain't no true South American blood in her. :p

Then again, I'm willing to admit that I'm wearing my rose-colored glasses of Sherry fangirlism, but when thinking completely rationally, I seriously see a resemblance to the RE2 model.

However... I, too, am prepared to be wrong. And disappointed.

Also, I'm brooding over this too much because I'm a loser. Siigh.

Carlos Oliveira kind of destroys everything you just said. =P

I jumped to conclusions thinking it's a changed Sherry. Just my slight opinion, though. Maybe she was transferred to a new environment, and she just changed along with it. I'm never sure with my theories, though. Hell, I thought Excella was gonna be Dr. Cameron. Whatevs, Sherry or not, I'm VERY eyes-on to DSC now.

...They just used the REmake/Zero/Umbrella Chronicles models. Which I suppose isn't THAT bad, considering the Hunter II is pretty much just an enhanced MA-121 Hunter Alpha.

I really can't tell whether you're making a joke or not, but regardless, I fail to see where she looks like a Latina, whereas I honestly thought Carlos looked like a Latino. However... the bracelets she is wearing on her wrist and ankle are, admittedly, what I assume to be an attempt at exotic South American jewelry, so they may very well be a hint at her heritage.

By the way... I got so excited about this new render, I didn't even click on the link for the updated RE5 gallery.

Chris, however, looks ridiculous. And, even though I know we're not supposed to take this costume too seriously, I still find it really awkward.

How long has this game been played - who is he/she? And how many times is anyone right?

My guess: It's Barry. (And I can be trusted - I did correctly guess that the masked woman was Jill almost a year before the release of RE5.)

In all likelihood, it's just another new character designed by Capcom to fit into the South American levels, where a female has to be included to fawn over metrosexual Leon. Leon will ignore the advances once again, as following a lady's lead just isn't his style. Then the new female character will exit stage left into the dark void occupied by Billy Coen, Carlos Homoveira, Ashley Graham, Sergei, and all the other one-shot wonders of the RE-verse.
