Looks Like Leon still has his VP-70 from RE2 and Krauser looks like he's equipped with a MK.23 or a USP.

fucking a lol. I gotta admit Leon looks pretty cool from the pics above and Krauser was always bad ass.

Leon's outfit kind of reminds me of Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3.

I rather like that Leon's still carrying his VP70. It kind of reminds me of how Claire was still using her Browning Hi-Power from RE2 in the CV intro, though I imagine that was due more to a lack of options on her part than personal preference. It does seem rather odd that he's not using his handgun from RE4.

One thing I've been wondering is, with the apparent emphasis Capcom is placing on the characters and their growth over the series, if they'll use this scenario to sort of explain Leon's rather lackadaisical attitude in RE4. Like, in the beginning of the scenario and throughout the majority of it, Leon would be the sterner of the two, trying to do everything "by the books," and maintaining and air of cold professionalism, while Krauser keeps trying to get him to lighten up or crack a joke.

Krauser's "death" would be the catalyst that would ultimately lead to Leon's wisecracking persona in RE4, but after finding out Krauser was still alive and betrayed him, coupled with the fact that he had to kill Krauser himself (yes, technically Ada killed Krauser, but Leon wouldn't know that), that caused Leon to revert back to his colder demeanor as seen in Degeneration.

Granted, knowing Capcom, none of this will actually happen in the scenario, but I think it'd be an interesting direction to take.

Couldn't we sort of infer that in RE4 anyway? I don't remember any cocky one-liners post Krauser's death/Mike's demise.

Inferences aren't enough for many RE fans. It has to be spelled out for them.

*Looks at RE5 Wesker/Spencer plotlines and library files, then looks at all the complaints*

              Yes. Yes it does.

                Really?
                "Saddler, YOU'RE Small-time"
"Better try a new trick, 'cause that one's gettin' old!"
And, of course, after the Plagas Removal:
                Ashley: "How do you feel?"
                Leon: "Like a million bucks..."

So yeah, he kept cracking 'em. I think it was all just due to the staff, which is what I believe Mercier himself said during one of the interviews.

But I wouldn't mind seeing Leon as the more uptight type, who still has a bit of that "Rookie" feel to him, perhaps not the most skilled agent in the field, but see him at least being able to use what he learned in Raccon City to help him during Operation: Javier.

That last one isn't exactly what I meant. How is saying "like a million bucks" cocky?

Also "Small Time" is at the beginning of the Island, not after Krauser's death.

"Better try a new trick 'cuz that one's gettin' old," isn't exactly on the level of "Rain or shine, you're going down!" either.

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how he's portrayed in the South America scenario.

True, true. I was just trying to show how he still was a bit cocky. Admittedly he WASN'T as carefree as before he fought Krauser though, so point taken.

Still though, this new segment looks pretty darn nice. I guess we can expect footage (and most likely a final trailer) during the TGS this year?

Probably. Though I really hope they don't show TOO much.

RE5 was practically ruined for me on that front.

I guess it was sooner or later before this would be annouced. So I guess there is only going to be three main scenarios in this game? I thought this game would have four like UC but according to Games TM Kawata said there would be no RE 4 scenario and when asked about a Degenration part he said "I would have liked to have featured the events of Degeneration, but the two projects were developed in parallel, making it impossible."

Am I the only one to think the high quality render of Krauser looks pretty bad? It looks like something from RE3.

EDIT: Ehh, I take the first sentence back. Though Yzak still took the words out of my mouth.

Leon looks kinda like James Marcus. OMG PLOTLINE.

I like Archelon's idea better. Plus, JB, I see that, but perhaps it's a tear; that's another possibility...Edit: holy christ look at the way its running down...what IS that?

Maybe he's got some of the alien black oil stuff from that X-Files show? (I always remember it leaking from eye sockets.) It'd make sense considering the superhuman Leon that appears post-RE2.

Oh my God, I figured it out!

Gaiden is canon. That's what's running down Leon's cheek; the BOW blood!
