  • Pictures of latest Famitsu, featuring Darkside Chronicles' South America Scenario

Photos showing this week's Famitsu feature showing the new South American scenario with Krauser are out. The quality of the photos is not that great but you can see a bunch of pictures showing off the South American locale, and the only surviving girl, Manuella.

Page 1 / Page 2 thanks to Michael.

Still waiting for someone to say that Manuella is a brainwashed Sherry with dyed hair. I'm really torn about wanting to see more though. As some people have already pointed out, the South American village does have a bit of a Kijuju feel. I'm just glad they are still zombies though. It'll be interesting to see what other types of monsters they'll encounter. I think hunters in the jungle would be completely awesome.

One thing that always bothers me: why are those low quality photos called "scans"?

Also, I love how Manuela's dress is actually white and not gray as the artwork released at gamescom suggested ;D.

Wow, looking at that nice render of Manuella (in a "scan," nonetheless) really makes you realize how horrible the quality was in the original render. Her dress is pure white. WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT when we originally received such an ugly render. She's really pretty, though. I love the sad look in her eyes. I'm desperate to know more.

Everything is so bright compared to the RE2 and CVX scenarios. It looks like we have zombies, though, which is a great and wonderful thing.

Yup, and I am still waiting for all the people who complained about RE5 being "not scary" - because it had large segments that occurred during the daytime - to start complaining about this portion of DSC.

Because to them, I guess, the RE world is supposed to be stuck in perpetual nightfall.

Oh, don't you know. It doesn't matter what time of day a level is set in--just as long as there are flesh eating zombies invovled. If there are zombies invovled, who cares then, right?

(But, on a serious note, whether RE or Dead Space Extraction, how can either game actually be "scary", when you can't actually explore anything. You're more or less on a rollar coaster in a "haunted mansion" ride.)

Krauser looks so damn bad-ass...he just better have his original voice actor from RE4. Otherwise, F it.

He should. Capcom actually has pretty much gotten all the "modern" character VA's invovled with DSC. I don't see why they woudln't for consistency's sake. With the exception of Chris(younger version, Mercifier did say he actually had to audition for Leon again) Birkin, Annette, Sherry, any other previous RE character seems to have there rightful VA. Which. . .is certainly a good thing.

You can achieve great atmosphere in the daytime, just look at Halloween, Psycho, Silent Hill (referring to the games of course), and too many others. Obviously it depends on how you use daytime or how well you remove the associated sense of safety. We'll see about that with DSC, though I want previews to stop (for my own self control) NOW. I don't want to see any moving pictures of the South America scenario.
