I agree. But if it's gonna be on disc.. they better prepare more goodies.
We don't know if this alternative version is only about that BSAA mission (I mean... maybe it's longer than we really think) Like a special bonus disc about Jill and Chris.

U don't understand me, useless because Capcom could add a patch and the new scenario as DLC. Anyway, all we know is a retail version named Alternative Edition will be out this spring, are the extra contents been confirmed as DLC? No!

Not enough info to jump into the conclusion it will not be released as DLC at launch or sometime later. Hopefully this new trailer coming up gives us more insight.

DC Douglas just replied to my question on his blog. Unfortunately he hasn't been approached by Capcom to record anything new for RE5: Alternative Edition.

Even after the illogical mess that was RE5, this still scares me. I like things to have logic, make sense and be fitting.

The first thing I thought when I woke up and saw that picture was "goddamn it, this shit is forced." There really was no need for a scenario starring Chris and Jill at the Spencer Estate, but the fanboys pissed and moaned and Capcom heard their cries(sounded more like *cha-ching* to them) and they answered them.

I have zero expectations for this 'Alternative Edition' and I'm extremely skeptical of just what it's all about. So far, if this is all there really is(wand controls and a new, forced scenario) and they have the balls to charge $60 for it, they won't be getting my money.

It's sad that I've turned into such a cynical fuck, but that's what RE5 has done to me. A game I looked forward to more than almost any other(besides MGS4) and had such incredibly high hopes for and it disappointed in so many ways. Because of that, I'm not getting excited for this new edition. Sue me.

Really neither am I, especially considering I don't have a Poose3, but possibilities allow me to be interested. Even if I have the means to play this I highly, HIGHLY doubt it'll be a first day purchase...and if the features are minimal, a rental most likely.

Yep but it sounds as though that was for something different altogether, probably the RE PSP or it could have been a misinterpretation and he was referring to his flashback cameo in darkside.

Incidentally, he won't be pushed on what exactly his involvement is on Darkside. Apparently, he got into some legal bother when talking about another game he was involved in [prob Mass Effect 2} so he won't budge on the issue.

This. After having nearly the entire game spoiled by Capcom's "PR" of re5, I really don't have the urge to buy anything else concerning this game. Other than the fact that it could probably be issued as DLC, they will probably show the whole damn thing before they release it. That's why I've not watched anything concerning Darkside since the first two trailers. I think this is just a cheap attempt at hawking the game again with a "new shiny package".

Do you what this means? It means many things, including: (minor minor obvious spoilers below if you haven't played or seen RE5 by now, ..which is weird):

-More or less, Chris and Jill vs. zombies, only this time...OVER THE SHOULDER and not clunky gameplay.
- Chris and Jill together in gameplay in story mode (rather than just extras).
- I'm sure there will be a lot of the Spencer Estate exploring BEFORE we get to the central hall where we fight Wesker, meaning = a lot of new areas to explore, etc.
- Scenerio probably ends with Chris' "JIIILLLLL" call.

Good, because I always wondered, WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO SPENCER's body after Wesker and Jill flew down to the waters?

Did Chris take the body back to BSAA? Or what?

These kinds of things need to be answered in the new scenerios/additions of story/plot.
