The words "Alternate Edition" struck a chord with me too, not sure whether it would be a language thing either, i mean, they're familiar with the term Directors Cut if that's what it was to be.

Unlikely i know, but perhaps they are going to change a few things around, offer us an alternative entry for the series...would keep us speculating about what is and isn't canon for another few years! haha!

Either way, Capcom is apparently including what should be DLC as added disc content to force the despicable "double dip." Whereas I was a bit unwilling before, now that I know it is Chris & Jill together (the main RE duo), I am sold. Plus, the artwork that Capcom has issued is awesome. I want that as my PC wallpaper.

Still, I am hoping the added mission will be released via download, even if it is without the motion control feature. That I can do without.

I don't recall people requesting a BSAA playable adventure... I guess people wanted a full unseen chapter of Jill Valentine and Josh.

Same here. I'll be surprised and pretty damn pissed if this is only disc-based on PS3, and not downloadable.

I think you all are thinking too deep into this. Alternate Edition probably just means an alternate edition to the RE5 we already, and that this one will have more content/scenerios, an alternative to the Resident Evil 5 we already know.

I'm hoping the added content provides a good 3-4 hours of gameplay, but more realistically it'll be around 2 hours, I would imagine.

As for what Chris & Jill may face...perhaps Wesker arrives shortly before C&J, and he sets off his own deterrents (unleashing a biohazard of sorts) for them, as I can't imagine withered old Spencer would have BOWs roaming his manor. That would be fucking stupid. And since Spencer anticipated Wesker returning to him, it's not like Spencer would (likely) try to kill him. Of course, the logical thing would probably be to have Spencer protected by a bunch of those goofy "Ivan" models from REUC, and at least it would being that questionable story angle back into the mix. And I wouldn't mind plain ol' armed guards since RE4/5 are basically pure action games as it is. Though it'd be spectacular to see zombies or crimson heads once again, thus my hope that Wesker unleashes a viral outbreak as he infiltrates the manor.

Hopefully there is some Wesker or Jill narration to add to the story just like Ada did for "Separate Ways."

I hope they add a subchapter of Jill meeting Josh... I think the idea of playing with her as the Crow Lady (going through all the chapters) saving Irving, meeting with Wesker...etc, sounded better. I won't be happy just with a BSAA scenary.

Yes. But I am trying to stay grounded, as my HUGE expectations of RE5 kind of soured the actual experience, even though it is still a damn fine game in its own right.

With this though, well, I am just very glad to have anything at all. And it already features my 2 favorite characters together, so I am already feeling pretty damn good.

How about if they gave you nothing at all? This is BSAA Jill Valentine, playable again in the main story mode. You gotta be rational about this or else the anti-Jill-fanboy crowd is going to have a field day with you.

Or, how about Chris/Jill/Chris and Jill narrating, talking about how they were finally hot on Wesker's heels, about to find him at a secluded estate, only to find it filled with BOWs and monsters.

Jill: "We were blindsided. Why were these creatures unleashed in this castle?"
Chris: "With Wesker involved, we should've known things weren't what they seemed..."

I have the ideal method to deal with this. Let the nuts...sorry, obsessives, have their news pieces, and let them take it to designated Jill obsessives topic and let them cream themselves over the possibilities, rather than derail even more topics with their illogical, inane ramblings. Whilst letting the far more calmer, less obsessive individuals discuss it without said derailing.

Of course this would never work...nice idea mind.
