How about if they gave you nothing at all? This is BSAA Jill Valentine, playable again in the main story mode. You gotta be rational about this or else the anti-Jill-fanboy crowd is going to have a field day with you.

Or, how about Chris/Jill/Chris and Jill narrating, talking about how they were finally hot on Wesker's heels, about to find him at a secluded estate, only to find it filled with BOWs and monsters.


Chris: "Finally, Wesker was within reach...but, something was off."
Jill: "We were blindsided...why were these creatures unleashed in this castle?"
Chris: "With Wesker involved, we should've known things weren't what they seemed..."

Well, seeing as C&J were trying to question Spencer about Wesker's possible whereabouts (thus their "surprise" when seeing him in the library/study), I think the only narration that would probably work best would be Wesker's. Of course, like you said, it could be integrated into the mission, with Chris & Jill bantering back and forth as they advance through the manor.

Still, I hope the dialogue serves to add some depth to the characters or story or both, instead of this being just a quick romp featuring the main pair. Though I am content with that as well...

Good point. Chris is always very surprised. His dialogue should just consist of this:

"Wesker...what are YOU doing here?!"
"Wesker!"
"Wesker, you ARE alive!"
"Wesker...is that...Wesker?!"
"Looks like someone woke up from another nap with the 'ultimate failure.'"

The words "Alternate Edition" struck a chord with me too, not sure whether it would be a language thing either, i mean, they're familiar with the term Directors Cut if that's what it was to be.

It isn't the first time Capcom is rereleasing their game with additional content and not simply naming it "Director's Cut". RE CODE: Veronica X, Lost Planet: Colonies Edition, DMC3: Special Edition, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting just to name few.

It just occurred to me, and I'm sorry if someone has already mentioned this, but didn't D.C. Douglas mention in his interview with UnwiredTV that he had recently done some voicework for a prequel that was separate from The Darkside Chronicles? I guess this is it.

It's hard to tell if it was referring solely to DSC, unless Douglas stated it as such. As Archelon mentioned, something was said to the extent of a "prequel" or something that happened in the "past." Which could mean either the RECV DSC portion, or the RE5 additional content.

Though, someone in this thread or the other thread mentioned that they had emailed Douglas and he said he has not done anything for the RE5 extra scenario. Which means that they have not contacted him to do his work yet, or maybe it will just focus only on Chris & Jill exploring the manor. I mean, we already knows what happens once they find Wesker (and are surprised by his presence).

Or, maybe Ja Lee was brought in to do her session, and Douglas and/or Roger Craig Smith have not yet recorded their bits. I'm actually assuming that the additional content is still in the earliest stages (storyboarding, etc). If it won't see the light of day until the Spring, then I'm sure it's not too far along. I could be wrong though.

EDIT: Assuming the speculated trailer will be out soon (and has more than a teaser image of Chris and Jill back-to-back), I am guessing I am wrong.

Hmm. I wonder if Wesker's attack will trigger some defensive toys Spencer is keeping? I know having B.O.W roaming the mansion is dumb as hell, but it makes as much sense as anything if Spencer sealed himself away and then released a variety of nasty B.O.W's...possibly even T-Virusing his own staff and such to make some zombie fodder. It makes the most sense I can think of...otherwise Spencer would only be able to have Ivans lurking around.

I mean this with all sincerity now, but what's the difference between the zombies and other BOWs that stalked the mansions of RE and CVX and now in this new scenario? Not sure i get it, there's nothing to say there won't be labs or samples on site yet is there?

I've already pictured it in my mind. Wesker is on the estate, hellbent on a showdown with Spencer, wreaking havoc along the way releasing whatever he can find.

Thinking even deeper than that tho. What will the enemies be in this chapter? You wud like to think that they should be zombies, hunters et all, but wudn't capcom have to programme entire new animations for these creatures considering they are not in the main game? Wud they be willing to put that much effort in?
Or r they gonna be lazy and have majini and plaga spiders running around? From a story standpoint, there should be no Las Plagas at all in this flashback chapter.
