I think Resident Evil 6 should include a fully functional in-game recipe collection. Every time you finish a chapter you should unlock a new recipe! My Mum and her friends would really dig that! Maybe you could store them in the Item Box....

The sad thing is, though, that looking at gameplay videos that were released during TGS, all those things you've mentioned just aren't there. Physics and hit detection looks the same (or at least very similar) as in the first game; animation looks very so-so (maybe even worse than in DR1), and zombies are... well, stupid and don't act very harmfully. :/

That is a key factor, because usually the teasers showing game characteristics are staged to make it look cool, but for the ones I saw, it's not actual gameplay, is just showing the ideas, so it could make sense that zombies are... "stupified".

If RE6 starts over with a new cast and story, and gets back to what Resident Evil is all about, I'll consider playing it. But until then, I'm more interested in the RE side games that will be coming out (DSC, RE Portable).
By the way, a Wii sports game with all of the Resident Evil characters might actually be fun (remember Mega Man Soccer?)

I tried to replay Dead Rising this afternoon, but the horrendous AI put me off. I mean, if you're trying to save all the survivors like I was, you're in for a tough time. I'd have preferred the survivors to run away from the zombies, not into them.

Mark Bozon from IGN (self described expert of on-rail shooters) had such a hard time with the E3 demo of Darkside Chronicles while other editors had zero problems with the very same demo.
Same thing happens with finished games. Some ppl find it impossible to beat RE5 on pro without a human partner while others find it easier beating it themselves using the AI.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

Does anyone remember that article where Takeuchi was asked about the Wii Fit board?
He said he would love to make a zombie fitness game. I'm still waiting for it. XD..

A western developer might be a good thing for the RE series. Obliviously if they listen to the fans, not everyone will be happy and everyone will probably have something to bitch about. Let a new team do the next game and my only hope is that they research the series first so they can decide if they want stick to it and continue the storyline.Last edited by Stars1356; 09-30-2009, 07:41 PM.

Probably a good team would be good. Either way, people are gonna bitch. They love doing it. First they wanted something new in the games, we got RE4... they bitched... now we're getting a trowback to classic games in RE5:AE and people still bitch because they're "recycling teh Spencer Mansion!!!!1".

Fact is, Resident Evil used to get more interesting ideas than what we're getting now. Quoting Barry, "just take a look at this":
That's the non-alternative standard RE5 Spencer Estate. Looks lie a scary CASTLE isn't it? Well now we got another mansion. Whoppie dooo. That's why I complain. Having Spencer Mansion (in soul) again is not original. STILL I'LL SUPPORT IT, BUY IT AND PLAY IT. But hell yes I can disagree with what they are doing.Last edited by Beanovsky Durst; 10-02-2009, 03:13 AM.

"I think, while Resident Evil 4 is a great game, its appeal was limited somewhat to maniac players," Takeuchi said. "With RE5, I wanted to bring the series to a larger audience. I think its important to do the same for the next RE."
I kinda feel like he's saying that it was a mistake to keep the RE4 style controls. I fear that they have listened to all the bitching that was going on in the wider gaming community, about not being able to move and shoot. A 'larger audience' probably means making the game control exactly like COD or Gears of War.
RE is a massive, successful franchise but as others have said, they always want more. It would probably be a good thing if the next game is a financial failure. I don't believe that would cause the death of the series. Instead, they would go crawling back to their core audience and make a game to please them (rather than trying to make a game that appeals to EVERYBODY). It's better to have a large loyal fan base, big enough to make a successful profit, than to lose both the masses AND the loyal fans...
Like, maybe they could make a Survival Horror game again.
