Now that's an outstanding idea. If they're going for nostalgia, a darker atmosphere, and constraining it to a length of 1-2 hours, I can't think of a better enemy for this scenario. Someone mentioned a US military flag...reanimated Krauser tyrant (take this with a grain of salt, please)?

Perhaps it's just Roidfield and Vagentine, but we'll see.

This was my initial thought exactly. That 'humpback' shadow is extremely familiar.

Wow - the direct feed trailer is amazing.

However this now does truly feel like the end of Chris and Jills storyline, and how fitting to mimic where it all started. Amazing.

Looking immensely forward to this, Capcom have done a total curve ball here, and for once it looks to be in the right direction.

Wesker. Rockford Island anyone? It's a known fact Wesker has in his possession viral samples and BOWs. Who could unleash some Hunters into Spencer Estate? Or release the T-Virus upon Spencer's staff.

But the question is, why would Wesker do that? He wanted to confront Spencer, to talk to him, because he was "programmed" to seek him. He didn't want to attack Spencer and didn't know Jill & Chris end up there too.

The developers can come up with any reason really. While I'd like the story to be fleshed out a bit more with this new content, I hope it centers around gameplay and atmosphere rather than plot points.

Well that screws up my theory

Anyway, If I'm not wrong, this is the moment where Wesker's switch flips from methodical cool villian to comic book super villian... This has a lot of potential which probably won't be used to develop properly his character arc. Shame.

What has potential? Wesker being the cool and collected guy working in the shadows or the comic book villain with the stereotypical agenda of world domination?

And why would Lisa Trevor return? She was blasted with magnums by almost every S.T.A.R.S. member (including Wesker) and also went ka-boom with the Mansion at the end of RE1. Man, if she does return then she's right up there with Jehovah, the Buddha and whatever god exist out there. She would be officially immortal.

One thing that can make sense would be:

Wesker arrives at the Estate, and kills the door guard (hence the blood on the carpet in the main hall).

He then unleashes a viral outbreak so while he goes search Spencer in the gigantic Estate, any intruders, etc will have trouble navigating through the Estate now that he has unleashed an outbreak.

Kinda like to delay/add trouble for any reinforcements, intruders, etc. (In this case, it'll be Chris and Jill, who, to get to Spencer, would have to go through both Spencer's pre-set traps AND Wesker's outbreak. But (RE5 spoilers) Spoiler:
                    and the scenerio ends/continues.

I took a long jump there, but it can happen.

See that wouldnt be so bad. Like Mr. Rod said, I too would much rather them focus on giving us a survival horror experience. Put in zombies, put in a freakish disfigured BOW, put in creepy critters running aorund left and right. Even if its a stupid reason why, I would much rather laugh at the reason and be afraid of the enmies and the atmosphere and enjoy that, then the otehr way around.

For example, how about Spencer discovers Wesker is comin his way, knowing wesker will be killing him, he lets loose BOW's he keeps at his castle or under the castle, wesker kills a few ( hence blood at door, it got up later and left) and chris and jill arrive at the wrong time to deal with these fun house horrors.

It it a thin plot? yes. but i would laugh in spite of it, not as if the resident evil series has ever been a realistic plot line, what with playing through how many constant zombie outbreaks from madmen? I would have more fun with it that way, and enjoy much moret he classic horror experience.

Nobody said it was her, just that it reminded us of her.

Didn't really think this was news post worthy, as he appears to be just as clueless regarding the project as the rest of us, but Gametrailers has posted a video interview with Chris Kramer regarding AE.

Am I the only one who could care less about gimmicky motion controls? I seriously hope they don't delay the release of the 360 version just so it can have this ridiculous "enhancement." The regular controllers work just fine...
                            Mass production? Ridiculous!

The potential to explain the transition of those two Wesker personas into one. They could extend the cutscene, as it is an "alternative" edition. But it's Capcom and Mr. Jun "Wii" Takeuchi we are talking about so it's not gonna happen.

there cant possibly be any BOW's in the mansion, Spencer lives there!!!! Bc if there was, things would be like this...

(Spencer wakes up in the morning, sits down at the kitchen table sitting next to a zombie, a hunter and lisa trevor)

                                Spencer: Hey pass the fruit-loops
                                Zombie: uhhhhhhhh (passes fruitloops)
Hunter: (runs around in a circle and breaks his chair)
Spencer: soooo guys Wesker should be coming around here sometime soon, if you wanna get all your boys together and yeah youve been here for the first 3 games so you guys can wander around, break through a window, shit like that...oh and Chris and Jill might show up speraticly...just a heads up, but now me and Lisa Trevor are gunna go take our pack of Cerberus for a walk..ciao
