  • More Gameplay Footage from Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

IGN has posted several new gameplay videos from the various scenarios in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. The areas shown in the videos are the same as those from the videos Gametrailers and Gamespot posted previously, though the actual footage is a bit different. In addition, IGN has also posted a new hands-on preview detailing a stage from the CODE: Veronica scenario.

To watch the gameplay videos, follow this link.

    *UPDATE*

1Up has posted its own hands-on impressions with the recent demo of the game here.

Aha, Claire and Ada look great side by side.

Still surprised that with less than a month left until the release we've only seen this slight release of Ada content, and only a shot of Chris' presence. Especially since Ada earned her name displayed on a trailer, which only Leon, Claire and Steve received. I'm hoping this is because something interesting is going to be featured with her.

Also, I have to say I really love Alfred's voice. It sounds like the actor has issues holding on to the accent though.

Alfred and Steve's back-and-forths are most entertaining. ♥

Did anyone else think Alfred sounded like The Riddler from Batman: Arkham Asylum in that video?

I get the feeling I'm not going to like the Code: Veronica section very much...

Maybe it's a different aproach, better than RE5's "we give you all before you even play the game..." advertising/promos. There's also no sign of Wesker Spoiler:
and Chris (other than his face for a sec) yet. Still we have a few weeks before release, so I expect another teaser/trailer soon.

In the Code Veronica video, it takes like two full minutes to get to an enemy encounter. This might be fine for a first play through (or if it were a more typical action adventure game) but it looks for a rail shooter, this could get pretty boring on repeated playthroughs with such sporadic activity.

Agreed. Why don't they use the cutscenes for that instead? For example, where is the cutscene seen in the TGS trailer when they find Ben dead? Instead in these videos it's shown in-game and you have the cursor completely useless for like 1 and half minutes.

When no enemies are around, use the time to shoot lights and stuff.
                    Mass production? Ridiculous!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Get more ammo and items before the next round.

Then again, some of those were really long, and it didn't look like there was much to shoot at certain points =/

Yeah, but imagine, for example, being killed by those spiders that were shown on the video, going back to previous check-point and being forced to see the entire "walking slowly and not doing anything" cut-scene once again... and maybe again, and again. I can understand that Capcom wants to build the atmosphere here, but forcing players to do nothing for few minutes is the wrong way.

The exact same thing was at the beginning of CV scenario (it was shown during E3 I think) - few monsters to shoot and long moments of doing nothing :/. It may be really tiresome to replay those scenario for the nth time.

I glad that I stayed away from a lot of these videos as I want to be surprised for once. Considering that two of the three scenarios are from previous games, there probably won't be many surprises.

This actually looks pretty good. aside from the lengthy time of no action for the CV scenario, I thought it built up rather nicely.

                            Too bad I don't have a Wii.
