  • TheSpeedGamers RE Marathon Live Feed Is Now Live

The SpeedGamers live feed for their Resident Evil Marathon gameplay is currently ongoing at the moment, which you can view at their official site.

    *UPDATE*
Game Informer has an exclusive video preview for Resident Evil : The Darkside Chronicles. The video shows off both Leon and Claire on their way finding Sherry in a dark , maze-like sewage which is nothing like the sewage we see before in the original game, while fending off enemies which includes a new creature that is not in the original Resident Evil 2. The video ends off in a big walkway and a earthquake, which seems to be the prelude to the appearance of the returning giant alligator as well.

Why did they add the Lurkers from RE0 to this?

They look more like the glimmers from Dead Aim to me...
      Mass production? Ridiculous!

But they don't have the glowing red orbs on their backs that Glimmers do.

Definitely not glimmers. They look new to me, the don't seem to be as big as lurkers. I think they are actually just frogs.

I remember a cell phone game that had lurkers/frog BOWs in a sewer level, suggesting they moved on from the Arklay forest. Now, I'm not sure of the canonicity (I think it's one of the Confidential Report games) but that interested me.

-LOL @ "Sherry!"...*gunshot* as if the player is trying to shoot her
-I must say they nailed immersion in the creepy crawlies department. Just watching those cockroaches fly on-screen and the spiders swarm made me jittery, the kind of situation where an intrusive itch on my body would make me jump and try to smack the invisible bug away.
-I love Sherry's new VA. Great panicky performance.

If the T-virus caused roaches and birds to grow to larger sizes, it's not far-fetched to think that it would do the same to frogs. I think you're right.

Whilst these ones appear to be mere T-virus infected frogs, the ones seen in Operation Javier look like miniature Outbreak Hunter Gammas. They even do the insane twitching when they die.

I don't like how the game appears to progress. Sherry is in the tunnel, while her mother is standing right outside. In RE2, Annette went crazy over Sherry, trying to find her and running after her at every opportunity. Here, she doesn't appear to give a fuck. Weird.

So many memories... I love it.
I like the frogs, it's a nice adition to the level.

Probably to add different enemies to the sewer level. The sewers of RE 0 where we see the frogs is connected to the same sewer as in RE 2 so adding the frogs would make sense.

They aren't Lurkers. Those fuckers were much bigger. Different species most likely.

They look like the same model to me. They're just smaller. These particular enemies may not be referred to as Lurkers, but I'm fairly confident Capcom is just reusing the Lurker model from RE0. It's the same thing with the Hunter Gammas in Operation: Javier. They're the same model as the ones in Outbreak, just smaller.

I don't think they're the same model outright. Nothing in Darkside Chronicles is re-used from previous games. I don't think thats relevant though, they still aren't the same as the Lurkers.

I wonder how we're going to work them into the canon....

Does Darkside Chronicles need working into the canon? (Other than the new material of course). I'm not going to take any old re-done stuff as canon, otherwise the Alexia I love will be gone forever and replaced by a gimpy, childish idiot obsessed with Veronica, rather than a cold, calculating genius/psychopath who wanted nothing other than ruling the world and everything on it.
