Perhaps they're only including the versions of games that are currently in PRINT, rather then related to the death or life of the console. I mean they recently did a bundle for the PS2 with those 3 games in it right ?

Yes, in USA two years ago, and RE4+CVX in Japan just now.

Yup, the PS2 console is still being made and sold and brand new games are still getting released on it. The GC has been completely dead and unsupported by Nintendo for a few years now. Simple as that...

But I agree that it dosn't really make sense to have the various versions of RE4 separately. It's still all RE4 (along with the PC version).

Even so, I'm still kinda shocked by just how well RE5 has done!
Combining the GC, PS2 & Wii sales of RE4 = 5.3 million
RE5 = 5.2 million
And the A.Edition will probably push it past the total RE4 sales! RE5 is a great game but wow, I didn't think it would have sold so much, so soon. I would also guess that a reasonable number of those sales are people playing an RE game for the first time.

Some would say the fact that it's in production right now and sells well at retail makes it a "this gen" console too.

I haven't been playing the PS2 for quite a while, but there're still stuffs once in a couple of months for the PS2. I think Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4 was released last year, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier was out this year if i am not wrong. There's a FF XI expansion to be out in Japan soon, as well as Guitar Hero: Van Halen and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Sure its no longer in its prime but its still getting decent support for a system that old.
