I'm glad it looks like they're at least considering releasing it as a packaged product. Call me old-fashioned, but I just prefer having a physical copy if for nothing more than a backup.

If they add more Mercs characters, I want to see some classic characters in there like Claire, HUNK, Barry, Leon, Ada, Carlos, Rebecca, etc. Hell, even Krauser would be cool! I could care less about some boring RE5-only character like Josh (who already flies the extraction chopper, so he's out) or some other random-ass BSAA trooper. Hopefully Capcom understand that the characters I listed are the ones who made the series what it is.

And if they add new maps, I'd like to see some stuff from the classic games. I'm just a bit nostalgic, that's all.

However, I'd rather see another new story mode-type thing (in addition to Chris and Jill in the mansion) rather than ANY Mercs stuff. And hopefully they'll make something that is SINGLE-PLAYER ONLY!

With all the games being re-released as "Game of the Year" editions, I can't imagine Capcom not doing the same thing with RE5: Alternative Edition, though for the life of me I can't imagine RE5 actually winning any GotY awards.

^Except that "Alternative Edition" is their repackaged effort. LBP, Fallout 3, etc - titles that were in some way awarded "GOTY" - are the ones repackaged as GOTY editions.

"Edition" is the key word.

But the repackaged, rerelease type of scheme is all the same.

perhaps new weapons that are available during the campaign mode? Like the Berretta that Wesker has in Mercs but you can use it in the actual game

I hope you get to choose to play either Chris or Jill on the first playthrough and not be stuck with Chris on the first run.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up for any pre-RE5 characters for Mercs....if anything we'll probably just get Josh and Kirk added. Although I would definitely like to see HUNK and maybe Ada with her AA costume.

Since Jill will be playing a bigger role maybe some new costumes for her, perhaps her RE1 & 3 costumes. The PC costumes would be a nice addition, and maybe the Spencer Estate as a Mercs map, that would be fun.
