It's true what Stu just said, i mean people getting outraged.
Nothing can be called a review since it's just a critics opinion. And we all know critics are extremely hard to please. we all see this game differently.

Me personaly, RE5 wasnt as good as RE4 (story wise). But it's still a dam fine game, and worth the £50 a shelled out for the special edition.

Maybe it's just me, but the dude on the left is an extreme douche.. lol
Thanks for the effort but I couldn't waste another second of my life listening to what those idiot's have to say.

I also can't believe how many people are kissing the ass of Res4. If your going to compare Res5 to a better Res game why not go with Remake, 2 or 3. Your all starting to swear Res4 was perfect. Let's not forget what that game "SHOULD" have been. I think your all just on board with it now because it's been so long and you forgot how disappointed you was.

The best thing to come out of this, is that now Capcom are probably sweating so they are going to work harder on the next game. Which to be honest doesn't stand a chance with some of your expectations. Res5 is a brilliant game in my eye's and the arguments I'm hearing so far against it are....piss poor at best. So either put up or shut up. Apart from part's of the story what is wrong with Res5? Graphics? Gameplay? Replay value? I've managed to get 190 hour's out of it and I'm no big gamer.

Yet you'll happily spend many more seconds spouting crap about other people's OPINIONS.

Because some of us (myself included) believe it is perfect, and don't feel the need to get wrapped up in the world of "what might have been" (OMG BET0RZ!11!!)

I must've missed the memo where you appointed everyone's spokesman haha

Because one bunch of people said it was disappointing? Utter logic faillure. Look at Capcom's income from this game alone, quite safe to say they're not sweating anything.

Resident Evil 5 has no redeeming features for those who like intellectual & atmospheric survival horror, and has evreything the mindless violent first perosn shooter wants. The interacation between the co-operative players on the Gamecube RE0 was tighter & effortless compared to the aggravation that is RE5 ~ It lacks sophistication, relying on the puerile mechanics of base gameplay, and having nothing to do with the sublime, effortless gameplay of Remake. Motion sickness is in abundance, but dont expect to use your brain cells, because Capcom dont require you to have any inorder to interact with the RE5 enviroment. There is no atmosphere to the game, just cheap shots of bossom & muscle, and stylised FMVs, replacing the dread that RE2 had in abundance. LOVE it for the turgid green&grey dull enviroment like you love Call of Duty, but I personaly prefer Biohazard, for its suspense & beautiful scenarios, which is why I bought RE5 ~ With Resident Evil 5 you get a nasty incarnation of what was a wonderful story, with cheap frills replacing those genuine moments of shock (when the dogs burst down the mansion hallway, or the zombie arms burst through the barricaded police station windows), constant & relentless gore for the bloodthirsty, not the horror enthusiast, unimaginative and lazy, very, very lazy. You can love this game because you like BIG guns, like you liked Manhunt, but I like survival horror, just like those games called Biohazard ~ untill their 5th turgid, pointless incarnation, which was phenominaly dissapointing, as it cheated all the TRUE Biohazard aficionados. I desperately want to be persuaded otherwise, PLEASE, and then I can enjoy even more of the story, but so far, I have read no acceptable reason for taking any virtue from this poormans Quake.

Don't get me wrong with my latest post but I really like RE5 much more than RE4.

The things is that the African setting was lacking compared to RE4's Gothic setting.
Also the enemy (B.O.W.s) variety in RE4 beats hands down RE5's IMO even the plaga
creatures are much better in RE4, the one I truly care about of the enemies in RE5 is
the return of the Licker. RE4's treasure system was much better because of the
complexity of mixing treasures as opposed to RE5 where you just sell it without a
            second thought.

Well, other than that I like RE5 more because of it's improved gameplay, more
replay value, Mercenaries mode was improved, and among other things. The
story was indeed disappointing...but you can't please everyone...RE4's
greatness was mostly praised because it didn't ruin the story because
it had so little effect on it, but it contribute to RE5's dissappointing story
            I believe.

I would desperately like to agree with the above, but I fail to see how sub-standard partner A.I. , the inability to shoot AND run, mindless violence replacing sublime horror, and turgid green/grey locations instead of gorgeously beautiful backdrops from insidious camera angles, can equate to 'improved gameplay' ????

                Biggest dissapointment of the decade?

X-Play is worse than IGN... RE Zero a 4.5? Just because it's a port? Gimme a break.

Yet all previous games had that and no one (fans) complained.

RE5 wasn't the first game to drop the horror really, RE4 did it first and influenced everything past it.

When I meant it improved the gameplay I meant it took what RE4 did and
improved it's mechanics even if it's just slightly. I do agree though with
mindless violence but that's a problem that came forth with both RE4 & 5
...but at least I believe RE4's atmosphere was much better done when
                  comparing two similar games.

You are definately right there ~ I dont want to be critical without corroborating evidence. I prefered RE4s Gothic setting over the daylight enviroments of RE5 and I may also be unfairly judging to an extent due to a bias for the mechanics of nintendo console gameplay ~ I have known since Goldeneye N64 that I prefer 3rd person perspective, so I will need to give RE5 more time maybe. From what I have seen so far, despite my initial reservations, it is most certainly NOT the biggest dissapointment, as there are obviouly enough fans of it out there to deny this. It also seems very linear.

Definitely RE4's gothic atmoshpere was better, I agree on that. Lost In Nightmares is looking to add that with the mansion and prison areas, it should be fun.

I lol'd when they said that the 50 cent game was a surprise of the year

and RE0 was an awful awful game and this port to the Wii is just stupid, at least add sometime to the game, youre very lazy CAPCOM

Ports don't need new additions, though.

I cant wait for Lost in Nightmares, and hope to get to grips with my new microsoft joystick by the time it reaches hard copy! I shouldnt criticise a Biohazard title just for not being Remake, because it is right that the series moves forward. Personaly I perfer that style, but I thought RE4 got the balance just right for my lot in the survival horror camp that would have prefered the 3.5 version, and the (possibly newer&younger) 1st person shooter guys who like the quicker, modern style of RE5 ~ My initial swipes at RE5 are from huge initial disapointment, but it is a main title with major plot development that I cant deny, and I really want to try and give it more time to grow on me. Lost in Nightmares may possibly be Capcom taking stock at where they are driven the series with RE5, and bringing it back in-line with its roots, in preparation for RE6?

yeah i understand that but they shouldnt charge $35 for a game from an old system
