I am sure Christmas will be a boost for some of their units at retail to help achieve their fiscal results. I still think they should just stop with the rail-gun series and go more to doing better quality on using the Resident Evil 4 engine and create full fledged scenarios, using 4's wii controls and that will be perfect for the system.

Pretty sure this is BS, because according with VGChartz, Darkside Chronicles sold 140k units in America during its first 4 weeks. A bit less than Umbrella Chronicles (156k in America units during its first 4 weeks) but still a quite good result in my opinion.Comment

I was under the impression the Wii was doing fine. It's just crap games that don't do so well. I could have even sworn that the Wii was actually the best selling of the three new consoles, because it appealed to such a wide market, but I could be wrong there. As it stands, Resident Evil is sorta like an 18 rated Mario where you play a grizzled Italian war veteran turned plumber whose flash backs to 'Nam mean he's grabbed a gattling gun, and is now wasting hookers and pimps and snorting coke off there bloody mangled corpses. I mean, Grand Theft Auto sells awesome well. So why not take Mario in a new and edgy direction? Why bother building up a new franchise? Sure, it's not exactly a family friendly platformer anymore, but it'll sell like vodka shots at an AA meeting after showing a movie of kittens dying.
So yeah. Regression is bad. But, on the other hand, change for the sake of change doesn't always work. As it stands RE5 got a backlash for it's loss of RE elements. Even reviewers weren't impressed, let alone us silly old fans who got into the series back when it did something completely different to what it does now. It's a crazy idea, I know. But using the tagline, 'Fear you can't forget' and then forgetting to put any fear into the action game didn't seem to impress.
And I still reckon FFVI is the best one. Shiny graphics do not an awesome game make. They help, sure. But good gameplay and good plot are more important, at least to me. If I wanna look at pretty crap I can go to the art museum or watch a movie. I like to play games.Comment

When the Wii goes HD, that's when i'll consider the Wii being good.
Games just look ugly and I can't enjoy Resident Evil games looking like crap.
If you don't have an old TV, do not bother with the Wii.
It's a shame because Resident Evil 4 is my favourite game, and I can't eccept what it looks like on HDTV with the Wii.

This rumor of DSC selling less than 50k units in NA is not true, according with other sources (more reliable than that blog) Darkside Chronicles is selling more or less like Umbrella Chronicles.
They have respectively sold 140k and 156k units in North America after 4 weeks since their launch.
