RE5 Alternate Edition Theme In PS3 Home Celebration

According to andriasang, Sony is planning a one year anniversary + Christmas celebration for HOME. One of the promotions is "Christmas Illumination". Set in the service's main Home Square area, this event is designed in the image of a Christmas night, with snow falling and shows themed around various game properties. View the shows, and you'll receive some special "X'mas Present Reward Items."

For this event, Sony has teamed with some of the biggest names in PS3 gaming, and Resident Evil 5 Alternate Edition is one of the games on the list.

Nice of them to continue with their Sim "second life" world and prizes, but I just keep seeing it as a waste of time, I've not even touched the thing from all the opinions from people and not being a fan of the type. Pass.

Home is a "sims" based game, where you can create a virtual version of yourself and interact with other ps3 users via lobbies. You can purchase costumes for yourself, such as street fighter costumes,etc. I played it today for the first time in awhile, to find that I got the RE5 character statues and a hugh Kijuju treasure chest to put in my apartment lol. That was pretty intersting, than I went to the RE studio lot to play that "RE archives" mission, only to have it crash 3 times. I'll have to check out the Christmas thing later and see if I can get the RE5 AE theme.

I stopped using Home after they removed open voice chat. Was a decent thing to use when didn't feel like playing games and just wanted to chat or maybe mess about. Is text only for large groups now though, voice chat friends list 1 to 1 only.

I use Home and like it a lot. Anyone know how to earn the PS3 theme? Never knew of Home giving out prizes outside of Home items.

They've done this before actually. On one event, if you came to the Bowling Ally dressed in Siren: Blood Curse costumes (I forget what the exact time was) you'd receive a free episode pack download of the Siren: Blood Curse game. That was pretty awesome.

I used to enjoy using HOME on occasions (playing some poker and stuff) but it's been a month or so since I've been there.
I became frustrated with frequently having to 're-download' the same spaces because of some minor update they had done.

But it's okay for a change of pace if you're bored and/or drunk and want to waste some time.

It's certainly been getting better and better with more new features etc...

My other major complaint with it is that different regions have different features and spaces, with Europe often missing out on stuff. I know I could create new avatars for my US and Japan accounts but I couldn't be bothered. (I'd also have to download everything again )
