Needs more Wii Fit support (for cover pedal function)

As for reaching 800k, business failures and such -> There's a difference between realistic estimates and wishful thinking. (I really do hate how a lot of game companies these days seems to expect their games to sell enough to cover development costs, orally please the investors/share-holders for the rest of their lives, build a company oil rig w/exclusive rights to a well outside the Norwegian coast and also fund the next moon landing - all within the launch month. Good thing the games industry isn't setting itself up for epic fail like certain parts of the music indus... oh... too late.

Nonsense. If it reaches what Capcom hoped to reach is irrelevant as long as the company at least breaks even on it.

I Think M rated Games don't suit the Wii.
They are kids & families who are buying It.

People need to stop holding onto the belief that M/18+ titles have no business on the Wii 'cause of its family friendly image. Nintendo has always had that image, but it's mostly 'cause of a mix of weird nostalgia and the fact that their strong first party line-up mostly consists of E/3+ titles with a wide appeal. I rather enjoy my M/18+ rated titles, regardless of what platform they're on, as long as the game itself is actually a good game.

Porn doesn't suit the internet! There are kids, nuns and families surfing it.

It does suit the Wii. Look how well Resi 4: Wii Edition did, and I'm sure it wasn't children/families playing that. It's just that no one really wanted Darkside Chronicles. Sure, it was nice to see the environments all tussied up again, but really, you can just watch cutscenes on the internet. The gameplay, I find, isn't really all that enjoyable, and the shaky cam, at very rare times for me, sometimes made the game feel unplayable. The final Mr X fight felt ridiculous.

And it's not about "achieving what you expected" in business, it's making a profit. If they make a profit on Darkside Chronicles, it was a success.

Perhaps I'm being naive, but I really don't think it matters what platform the game is on. If it's a quality game, chances are that people will purchase it. I really don't think DSC would have sold any more if it were on the 360 and/or PS3 (well maybe, I guess, if it were multi-platform).

About wanting remakes, I think we all do. But remember that to make a quality remake takes time, and somehow I don't see Capcom doing this. RE5 was pure action, and it (I believe) has sold more than any other RE game to date. Mostly mindless casual shooting fests sell, and games that focus more on exploring and details sell less (unfortunately). So why would Capcom go back and remake RE2, RE3, or C:V if they know they won't get the sales they got with RE5? Logically, they will continue in the action-oriented direction of RE4 and RE5, and if a remake of a classic RE game is made, it will most likely be in this style. However, I think most of us can agree that these games don't fit into this style (RE3 might), and thus I doubt they would attempt it. Just my opinion.
              Mass production? Ridiculous!

Pretty much. A quality title has much more sales potential. Especially in the long run (as long as it remains supported by the publishers and the title gets the recognition amongst the people that it deserves... just look at how a lot of Nintendo's first party titles just keep on selling).

                Just for fun, since multiplatform stuff was brought into the picture;
Compare New Super Mario Bros Wii's sales to Modern Warfare 2.

One is available on only one platform and the other on 3. One making more headlines than the presidential candidates during the last election and the other hardly any at all.

Their sales numbers are close to tied (Of course NSMBWii will evt. be the winner of that duel, but let's see if Reggie was right and NSMBWii beats MW2 as soon as by the end of January)

But really, UC's exclusive level was better than DSC's, and better overall game(I'll give the cinematics to DSC though).

Well I hope this calls for remakes. Since they need to get back their investment, they can recycle what they started in DSC and make it into full RE2 and CV remakes.

(Though I'm a Wii owner and an RE fan (duh) but I did not buy yet. Lol. Maybe in the future.. coz even I see it as a good game, I don't think it's a must-be-played now.)

I believe Capcom goes by Wesker's modo. xD

"On-rails shooters will be released into the atmosphere...ensuring complete, global...Saturation!"

Who knows...probably if it does sell well, they might bring out another on-rails shooter out...
Resident Evil 5: On-rails Saturation (OH NOES!)

I received this mail from Capcom:

Further to comments made in a recent article on French
website Gamekult, Capcom would like to confirm its commitment as a
multi-platform developer and publisher of interactive software.
                        Kind regards
                        Capcom's European PR Team

They really can't afford to piss off Nintendo. Say what you will about the Wii, it's probably the most common of the three systems and despite not having graphics that cause Orgasm via sight they are nice enough.
