The official site for Biohazard 5 Alternative Edition has been updated with a note (in Japanese) by the director who's in charge of the enhanced re-release of the game. In addition, a wallpaper is now available for download on the site, and it comes in 4 sizes.

I was checking around to see if there's any RE5 Gold Edition update from CES 2010 and didn't see anything. It seems Capcom have silently canned the plan (at the very last minute) and resulted in a no-show for the game at the event. If you check the Capcom-Unity again, the title is missing from the list now.

Happy 2010 New Year!
This is Anpo, the director of the additional content for Biohazard 5. It's been already almost one year since the original game's release, so let's have a great year this year as well!

Capcom is underway with additional downloadable content for the already-released Bio 5, having been given the opportunity to develop it. Because Bio 5 was well-received, I want to give my gratitude to the fans.

The concept of one of the new episodes, "LOST IN NIGHTMARES," is "respect for Biohazard 1."

What I mean by that is, when we say say Bio 1, I am referring to that game's development team and of the time when I first entered Capcom. Anyway, I can't help but reflect on the screen the game I created. I've been immersed in the company and in the game's development.

Engaged in the development from beginning to end, even not knowing left from right, I certainly learned and understood many concepts from Bio 1. It's quite a big deal when I give such gratitude to Bio 1, right?

The slogan of Bio 5 is the concept of "Fear you can't forget," but "LOST IN NIGHTMARES" is about return to the origins of fear. I feel we have again designed a different atmosphere, so by all means, please enjoy the game.
