Resident evil Afterlife Un-Delayed. Back on Track For 2010
Judging by the pattern shown above, chances are more people are jumping on the ship as opposed to jumping ship. Then those of us who actually enjoy the movies can... you know, go see them.
^ So when the movies do it, it sucks, but when Capcom does it it's sweet? Capcom seems to think that the movies are good if they wish they had come up with those ideas (and actually ended up using them anyway). You read the article wrong. He's saying it's unfortunate that they sold the rights because he made the movies so well that they wish they could use some of the stuff from his movies (which, as previously pointed out, they did anyway).
And, in my opinion, not in fact, Degeneration is proof that Capcom should stick to games.
Capcom only say the movies are good because they are on contract with Anderson and they don't wanna make him look bad.If Capcom weren't,they would bash it like it was no tomorrow.
If they want to keep making the movies fine. But get a new writer. And new actors.Sienna Guillory is fine but the others got to go.For goodness gracious Ali Larter never even played a Resident Evil game in her life and she plays Claire Redfield in Extinction!!!!Where the heck do they hire these people? It's insane.Atleast when Sienna Guillory and Oded Fere cast as Jill and Carlos, they played the games.

You of course know this because you work for Capcom, right?

Hey, maybe it wouldn't make a difference. Anderson played all the games, and you hate his guts.
It's not in Capcom's interests to bag their own releated interests. In the end if the movies do well to a mainstream audience, then there is good chance those people will buy the games.
For Sony, via Screen Gems, the series thus far has been their second biggest money maker for films for them (behind the 3 Spiderman films), and for Constantine Films it's been their biggest as well, allowing them to fund dozens of other projects over the years.
Capcom had Okamoto on board for the first film as an exec, but since then seems to have left the movie makers to their own part, seperate from the remainder of their interests. Individuals may differ (love to know what Mikami or Okamoto think of the movies themselves, the latter mostly because of his direct involvement in the first film), but as far as Capcom are concerned it's a success, and I highly doubt they care about the quality as long as it's profitable.
The fact that whether they use guns or not is irrelevant. The movies have a lot of plot holes, movie references, and unrealistic even at times ridiculous stunts. IF Paul would fix these it would have been a lot better than they were.
I'm still waiting, with baited breath, to see if he keeps the whole 'All the plants are dead' thing in the movie. The plot hole so big even the official novel didn't mention it. Because how does a virus that's transmitted by bite to living flesh get into plants? Zombies don't munch them. Zombie cows maybe? Rather than flesh they crave grass still? It can't be the water, because then plant life in the sea would be dead too and the world would have a distinct lack of something. What was it again? Ah yes. Oxygen.
The ones in the games tend to be a lot smaller. Mixed up dates and bad translations rather than giant plot holes from the second and third movies. The first was actually relatively tight, plot hole wise.
The ridiculous stunts aren't too bad in the games either. In a three hour game you usually have one or two feats which defy gravity, physics and common sense. They are there...any one whose played Code: VERONICA knows that. And RE4 is an obvious exception, with Super Secret Ninja Agent Leon S. Kennedy regularly snapping the rules of reality over one mighty knee. But the movies have them rather more often (again, mostly the second and third ones. The first only had three or four I can think of, such as the dog fight).
And the movie references...well, I have no idea why that's a bad thing, but they're are certainly plenty in both.
