Carn - Yeah I know, but it smacks of inconsistency. It clearly has a lot to do with the fact the MT Framework was used on them and thus there was one development team working on one title for all platforms. But it's not excuse not to break your units down into their actual SKU platforms.
To be clear... I have no issues with the thought of combining them, but then really it should be combine them all or not combine them at all. Not both.
I was always surprised at how well the Dual Shock version of RE did... but the Directors Cut was not at all surprising. Heaps of people purchased it solely for the RE2 demo, after many delays and also in the massive hype leading up to the release of RE2. Also Capcom stopped printing the original RE earlier in 1997 so new copies became harder to get by mid year. The game won awards, including the People's Choice award from Sony in early 1997 so there was lots of positive words of people telling others they needed to play it, so it also helped it's sales.
CVX - Good point, you're right I didn't think about the packages of RE2 and I do recall you showing some previous numbers definitely quite high in the US. There is definitely some oddities in here and like all sales, should only be taking it as a general guide, not set in stone. At the end of the day this is what Capcom wants to show to it's investors so they have to be happy with it so it's good enough.Last edited by Rombie; 02-03-2010, 06:11 PM.
