  • Capcom Talks On RE5 AE And RE DSC Performance

Capcom posted their earning report today. Unfortunately for them, the report doesn't look very good. Capcom cited Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles as one of the reasons for the fall of the sales, but cited Resident Evil 5 AE as one of the successful stories. Hit the link for more.

Not surprised. DSC was unoriginal, (as in, UC was the first in the series to do short, multiple remakes and on rails at the same time); and about the only thing DSC improved on was the graphics.

I think they should stop with the on rails crap from here on in. UC was the first release, so it did fairly well, but this was expected with DSC after all the negative criticism UC recieved.

RE5 AE on the other hand, not surprised with it's satisfactory performance either. Resident Evil 5 as a whole did an amazing, AMAZING job with sales and pulling forward new fans.

I enjoyed DSC more than RE5 (and AE), but both were pretty disappointing releases and I can see why the sales were low for at least one of them.

As much as I actually enjoyed playing DSC, I still didn't buy the game. I guess it serves Capcom right for putting out shit like UC and disappointing alot of people. I find it really hard to feel sorry for them for this.

I enjoyed DSC but I can understand the bad sales. Although it makes me worry that due to these bad sales, we won't be seeing anymore remakes any time soon.

Re5 AE sold so well because of LIN I imagine.

Anyone knows where to find the source of these numbers? All the other companies have released pdfs detailing their earnings... but I can't find the source of Capcom's data.

More likely no more RE games for Wii, period.

                      Well, okay, scratch that.

They still have yet to release:

-Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil 2
-Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil 3
-Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil CODE: Veronica
-Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil 4

They should work on a new title for wii similar to RE4 and on some good DLC for RE5 ... but nooooooooo.

Both chapters were featured in DSC and UC.

And enough of the rail shooters Capcom, give us some info on RE PSP or RE 6.

                              No, see, that's the thing.

Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil 4 will be a port of the original Gamecube version, with no Wiimote support and none of the PS2 content.
