  • Resident Evil Afterlife Comic Con Panel Roundup

Screened.com attended the Resident Evil Afterlife Panel held at Comic Con and they've put up the details, the cast along with director Paul W Anderson were present and answered several questions along with showing some footage from the movie. The footage description contains spoilers for some scenes so view at your own peril.

    Afterlife Comic Con Panel

    *** Update ***

Shock Till You Drop also talked with Anderson for a while at Comic Con and whilst Anderson didn't outright confirm or deny any future movies, he claims that these movies are more of a passion project to him than business and that we wouldn't hear anything about future plans until Afterlife is released.

Will There Be A Resident Evil 5 -- thanks to our resident dude XFactor for the heads up.

    *** End Update ***

Not too much in terms of spoilers but still an umm interesting read. But:

"Q for Wentworth: Ever play the game? A: My parents put a big emphasis on homework. "

Now he was born in 1972. That made him about 24 when the original Resident Evil came out what homework was he referring to? College etc surely the apron strings were severed by then, to further dig a hole for himself he's asked "ever play the game" when they are already discussing RE5 specifically which only came out last year! Why can't he just say he didn't play them or simply "Yes". Or am I reading "homework" too literally and he's referring to any kind of work even as an adult in which case he's just looking for a roundabout way of saying videogames are a waste of time, am I overevaluating this at all afterall I'm only reading a transcript it depends on his tone as he said it too.

    Ah whatever . . .

Proving once again that Sienna Guillory is the only dedicated actor to this franchise.

Maybe he's not saying it literally, but more like saying he is not a video-game kind of guy.

btw AJ can you add this to the news update?

"We always take it one movie at a time. We put so much effort into them and it is a family affair. It is all about making the best possible movie now and then promoting well and getting it out there. Making sure it is seen in the right way. When the dust settles then you think about something else. For us, it is not a business, it is a passion. You don't want to start talking about the next baby until you make sure this one is okay."
Quite possibly the worst analogy I've ever read.

Yeah, too literal on the 'homework' in regards to school homework. It sounds to me like what he's implying (not saying it's true or not) is that his "parents put a big emphasis on homework, so obviously I did my 'homework' by playing the games". Whether that's what he meant, or if he did or not, I can't say. First thing that came to my mind reading that line was his implication that he did play the game(s).

I assumed it meant he was too busy being an awesome student of awesome to touch silly video games. He's only starring one because he's getting paid and, let's face it, he doesn't really need to know the character. It'll be completely different to how he appears in the games anyway.

Added and oh god i hope they give the movies a rest now lol.

Anderson's "passion" is all but wasted if it doesn't do business and if it does good business you can be sure there's going to be more
