Thank god. i want quality, not quantity, Capcom. As for a portable version of RE, is RE:3DS not enough?

Sounds good!! Imagen, they usually made "holes" in the RE story every 3 or more years so; now is going to be 3 to 4 games with game plot holes in one year :O

Nevermind; I didn't read the update!!!

I want both! Qauntity and quality would be beautiful. Sadly this would be really hard to do so its un likely. Id prefer a great game that took 4 years to make and is worth the wait than capcom releasing a crap game a year.

More outsourcing is never good news.
Quoted for truth and agreed upon.

...not much I can say that hasn't already been said -- I don't want RE to end up like MegaMan and Street Fighter... at this point, however, it seems inevitable.

Resident Evil is CAPCOM's creation/baby, not some game studio that will flop and go bankrupt after their first retail game fails utterly. By stupid analogy, its would be like Metallica asking Lady Gaga to start writing lyrics for them... just, no.
            I'm a blackstar.

Seems too ambitious especially when we consider how many studios have struggled or were even closed recently. Do Capcom really want to over stretch themselves surely they've been doing well enough recently . . .

The updated news reflects further development on Capcom creating new IP's in Japan and outsourcing sequels and spin-off's to other development aroudn the world.

Provided Dead Rising 2 sells as good or better than expected, then Capcom will be happy with this approach.

I'm saying Wii, because they really got to finish that Archives edition with a full set of the main story on
par with each other...there's no way they can pull another port like they did with the GC titles and
they can't be on-rails because they already did them. xD
Capcom only released the Archive series because they sensed that there was a strong demand for RE titles on the Wii. That was way before the time RE5 came out.

Capcom considered that releasing ports on the Wii was the only viable option they had to meet that demand... the only option where they didn't had to spend big money (all the promotional material and game development work for both RE0 and REmake was all paid for years ago). Any money they made on the archive series was going to be 95% profit.

And they fucked up with that strategy. Because instead of giving RE fans on the Wii something new (or at least a brand new remake dammit), Capcom gave them straight ports that were 6-7 years old.

By the time Darkside Chronicles came out (an on-rails game), RE fans on the Wii had had enough. They didn't support DSC as they did UC. And Capcom's strategy has evidently poisoned the environment on the Wii, to the point it's questionable if any future RE will ever do well again on the Wii.

So I don't see any more Archives games coming out on the Wii. Capcom missed the boat on that one.

                      Good point tho.

I did like the Archives tho, something new to collect I'd buy more if they made them for Wii. At leaste Zero was widescreen unlike Remake

I'd wager that we will soon have the Dino Crisis IP revived as a part to their 3-4 title plan. I've been looking for my dinosaur fix again; you can't get enough of them.

I love RE games but if they keep putting out sub par games it will destroy the franchise. Some of the spin offs were ok but really everyone is waiting for the next numbered title.

I wonder how long we're going to have to wait until we actually get to see some gamplay footage of Resident Evil Revelations. It would have been nice for them to include some gameplay footage in their teaser trailer. You can't judge a game just by some cutscene footage.

Guess i'm the only one who's gonna stay away from the re franchase for as long as they continue to reuse the crappy re4/re5 action engine, the 3DS title looks nothing more than a rehash of LIN leftovers I want survivor horror god damn it not some hollywoodised bastardization.
