One thing to note is that the chances of the information being brand new is pretty slim, as the first Archives is completely comprised of information from the Kaitai Shinsho guidebooks on the series. Chances are we already have the information. Don't expect any new plot revelations or anything, because the original Archives didn't have any.

Also, Umbrella (at least Umbrella USA) had its downfall in 1999. Dead Aim's scenario has Umbrella preparing for a "revival". So it could very well cover Dead Aim and so on. It better, anyway. Neglecting the side-games is a big mistake. But it might only be Operation Javier.

Its best not to have hope on the book covering anything outside of RE4 and RE5, since the cover depicts both Los Illuminados and Tricell's logos.

I'll be sure to try my hand on getting the book at TGS.

Also, I believe the first book didn't cover all of the unused materials, such as the artworks from the N64 Resident Evil 0. I'll be very surprise if they trace the development of RE4 all the way back to the version where it became DMC.

RE4 also sets up the revival of Umbrella, not just it's downfall. That's what the whole sub-plot with Wesker and Krauser hinted at anyway. Mikami most likely wanted to pick-up on that in the next game. Why include that sub-plot if he wasn't going to do it? But now we'll never know.

And Operation Javier takes place in 2002, so it should be included. If the data in the book was written in before the game was developed, then maybe it won't be included.

I hope so. RE4 was a great game, but I care more about the mythology of the series during the zombie days (as opposed to the parasite days).
            Mass production? Ridiculous!

But yeah, downside is even if there is an English version planned, it will probably be a long ways off I guess...
What do you exactly mean by RE4/5 Las Plagas plot holes?

There's some work related in the japanase versions of Resident Evil 4/5 that refer to certain other las plagas biology and other little texts relating to the story of the games.

Despite my disdain for the Outbreak series, it should get some coverage in this book.

Too much to hope for a Dead Aim inclusion with those dates, but this is a great announcement for a starved community. I cannot see it covering any further detail, not already available/known via the K guides, but to have a second complete Archives volume is a surprising treat......my heart goes out to you Mike, but I hope your 'rival' project still goes ahead !

Completely agree. Hopefully we will learn much more about Project W and Alex Wesker.

I'm very interested to see how the whole Ada/Organization and Wesker gaining Las Plagas business is addressed. Surely this book must answer it. Detailed profiles on the enemies in the games should also confirm if the whole 'modified control plaga' aspect is indeed true or not.

I also really hope we get some background detail on the Los Illuminados and updated character profiles on the likes of Wesker, Krauser and Spencer should be very interesting.
