On top of what I already mentioned, Leon gets slammed across a giant open space and slams into a large steel box, then jumps up and runs as if it was nothing. He shakes off any attack (that actually hits him) with grace and ease in Degen. Perhaps you should pay more attention to what my post said, and perhaps rewatch Degeneration. Or download and listen to the RPD podcast. I'm pretty sure others tore apart and criticized Leon's outragous actions as well.

Oh...and your self censoring is great. Let your balls drop and either use the 'bad words' or dont use them at all.
Congratulations Rosetta, you managed to lose all your dignity in two lines. I find it amazing that you felt the need to lash out with personal attacks when I didn't do anything but laugh at what was an absurd post comparing a telekinetic mary-sue to Leon. And I'm quite proud of my censoring, thank you.

That said, I do realize that you never said anything about Leon's actions in the games but you also never excluded them from the point being made. It seemed atypical to me that you wouldn't lump everything Leon has done together as many often do.

Even so, you clearly haven't watched Degeneration in awhile if you think this happened exactly as you stated: Leon hanging by one leg with a person and a monster clinging to him while flying around in the air. Yes, at one point he is hanging on a catwalk by one leg while holding a person. However, the monster is primarily holding onto some sort of cord while it has only its tail wrapped around Angela and nothing on Leon. There is also no "flying" as you put it until after it has already been killed and the catwalk disengages from the wall. Your memories of this scene appear to be obscured by blind hatred rather than fact.

You also seem to be of the impression that I have some sort of undying love for Degeneration. I don't, really. I think it's better than the live-action films, certainly, but I don't pretend it's devoid of faults. I hate that Leon has no personality in the film, that Claire doesn't get much screentime, that zombies have no real relevance in the plot, that the lip-synch was terrible, etc.

I'm just so sick of the fact that we can't go one thread that mentions Leon without it turning into a hatefest. It's been five years since RE4 came out and the outcry needs to be let go of, because it's so tiring to see the same thing over and over and over.

I love how everyone is bitching about Leon being the lead. I don't know about you guys, but I'd take a new CGI movie starring Irving and Excella over another Anderson crapfest any day of the week. Yes, we all want to see Rebecca and Barry in something canon again, or CGI Chris and Jill, but just be grateful that we're getting another one of these movies. Degeneration was better than anything Anderson has ever done involving RE (or pretty much anything period) in my opinion.

Would anyone else be interested in seeing a Leon-Jill dynamic? They're the only two really main characters that as far as I can recall have never even interacted. I'm curious as to how it would work...
      Mass production? Ridiculous!

Maybe this one will be more relevant to the overarching story of the series than Degeneration was. I enjoyed it for what it was, but it wasn't exactly necessary. All it really accomplished was reuniting Leon and Claire for one last hurrah and even that was short lived.

I'm probably getting my hopes up too high, though.

Leon and Wesker never actually met, either, but if this is set after RE5, then that obviously won't happen.

And just to toss my two cents in on the matter regarding Leon being the lead, he's really the only character left who has any lingering plot threads to resolve, i.e. Ada and The Organization. Do I expect this movie to cover either of those topics? Not really, no, but Chris and Jill were essentially retired after RE5 (unless Revelations takes place after RE5, but even then, with Wesker and Spencer gone, there isn't a whole lot more for Chris and Jill to do), and Degeneration showed that Claire doesn't fight anymore, so really all that's left is Leon (and Ada, by extension).

Sure, I know many people want to see Barry or Rebecca again, but honestly, what would that do to answer any of the remaining questions the series has left us with? Like I said, I fully expect Damnation to be another one and done story almost entirely unrelated to the rest of the series, as Degeneration was, but I would still wager that we have a better chance of getting at least some questions answered with the involvement of Leon. Probably not, but who knows. At the very least, there's a better chance than there likely would be with someone else, save for Ada, perhaps.

He could be in Damnation, RE6, or Revelations for all we know at this point.

If I had to guess (with no evidence to support my conjecture whatsoever, mind you), though, I'd say that Alex Wesker will probably the new main villain for a brand new cast of characters. For awhile now, I've gotten the sneaking suspicion that Resident Evil 6 will star completely new characters, and possibly the only ties to previous titles being the presence of Tricell and the BSAA. With Leon starring in Damnation, and Chris and Jill in Revelations, I'm starting to think more and more that might be the case.

If so, Alex Wesker may be poised as the Wesker of a new generation, if you will. The old guard had Albert Wesker to worry about, and the newbies will have to deal with Alex. Basically, it would be a way of keeping a Wesker in the proceedings without having to rely on anything from the past.

But again, this is all pure speculation without a shred of evidence.

              .
No offense against you (or anyone in general) but Why the fuck is it in any way important how someone uses bad words? This is a level of bitching I really don't understand.

Sorry if this was completly offtopic, but I felt the need to say this.

Just because Chris and Jill managed to put an end to Wesker and possibly Spencer how does this mean they have retired?

Chris thought twice that Wesker was dead and he still kept on fighting for the B.S.A.A. as well as Jill. Just because they have taken out their arch nemesis doesnt mean thats the end. If a cop is chasing a bad guy for a long time and finally catches him does that mean he gets an early retirement plan?

I think Chris and Jill will continue to fight on because they are recognised as the best at it. Yeah they have been through alot but I dont think they would want to retire yet. Unlike Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon I still think Chris and Jill are far from 'Too old for this shit'.

Also considering the ending we got from RE5 (As much as I like this game) I would be kind of pissed off if thats it for Chris and Jill. As long as we get some cameos or information about life after RE5 for them then I might accept the ending. But if thats it for Chris/Jill then I'm not happy at all with their ending. I think its abit to vague to be an overall ending after 13 years of anticipation. It reminds me of Lost, An epic series with tons of plot, twists and questions but when it comes to an ending I think they got abit lazy.

I think you misunderstood what I meant.

I didn't mean that Chris and Jill would actually retire from the BSAA. I meant that Capcom retired them as characters. Certainly they would continue fighting bioterrorism in the world, but their story arc that began in RE1 has been completed.

There isn't a whole lot left for them to do that's relevant plotwise to the overall series without creating an entirely new threat for them to face.

Leon = already getting Damnation, would be boring to repeat him in RE6
Ada = could be a great choice to close her story, fill in the gaps

Lol. That's all I need to say, because if I say anymore I'd probably end up with an infraction. Not that it really matters.

That said, I do realize that you never said anything about Leon's actions in the games but you also never excluded them from the point being made. It seemed atypical to me that you wouldn't lump everything Leon has done together as many often do.
If I wanted to bring up anything Leon did in the game, I would have. You assumed I lumped everything together. I only mentioned Degeneration, yet you let your ass get into a tizzy over something I never even alluded to. Way to blow it out of proportion.

However, if you want to talk about Leon in the games, let’s do it. He takes out an entire village of armed, parasite infected people with only a single handgun (at first). He’s able to fight a monster inside a burning barn without suffering any burns or smoke inhalation. He falls down a pit yet manages to toss a grappling hook, it magically catches, and then he safely repels down (though this is off camera). During the fight with the lake monster, a rope wraps around his leg and begins to drag him. The weight/force and speed probably wouldn’t have given a person time to save themselves, and let’s not even think about how the tightness of the rope around his ankle would have injured him. Leon casually hangs around in a room with lava. Lava, as in stuff that’s extremely hot. Once more the heat does nothing to him. Later he takes on more adequately armed and armored enemies, yet Leon’s a one man army that pulls through without a scratch. Then there is the laser room, as you already mentioned, but let’s not forget Leon also jumps down a large hole with Ashley, not really knowing where it leads. They land in refuse, and once more miracles (how do they work?) happen and nothing in the garbage impales or even bruises them.

I’m fairly certain if I took time to replay RE4, I’d find several more unrealistic things that happened in the game. It's not exactly telepathy, but still stretching reality. However, it’s a video game. There’s supposed to be a high level of belief suspension. The game would be boring if there wasn't action or hordes of enemies and monsters to fight. Yes, some people disliked RE4's change from 'horror' to action. I find that more fans are turned off by Leon's personality, not just what he does in the game as far as anything physical.

Even so, you clearly haven't watched Degeneration in awhile if you think this happened exactly as you stated: Leon hanging by one leg with a person and a monster clinging to him while flying around in the air. No I haven’t watched Degen in a while, so yes I don’t have the end scene completely 100% memorized. I have this thing called a life…I don’t watch the same shit over and over again. Had I known someone like you would their ass blistered over one comment, I would have done my homework a bit better to make my point more accurately. I still haven’t rewatched the scene, and you know why? Because I don’t fucking care.

You also seem to be of the impression that I have some sort of undying love for Degeneration. I don't, really. I never said anything about your personal like/dislike of the movie. If you don’t want to hear what people have to say about a character, good or bad, don’t post on web forums. I never said I hated or liked Leon. I'm sure a few people can post here and really tell us how they hate Leon. Others have voiced their opinion about not really being keen on having Leon back, yet I’m the one you single out because I compared Leon to Alice (circling back to you not comprehending my original post to begin with). Oooh…I shared my opinion and you bitched. If I want to say I think Leon is like Alice, I have that right. Get over it. I also wasn’t even the first to say he was the Alice of the series. http://www.the-horror.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=31

So….thanks being butthurt over one simple statement. Made my day. If you feel like your feelings are getting hurt, there's a simple button you can use to ignore people.
