"One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars." Resident Evil/Castlevania/Silent Hill/Onimusha/Tekken/Dark Souls
Judging from what they said about the story, it sounds like this won't be as "revelatory" as the title suggests. Setting it between RE4 and RE5 kind of takes away any possible impact the tension between Chris and Jill might have had, as well.
Pro-tip for CAPCOM's designers and writers: A survival horror title is more horrific if you don't know that the protagonists are alive and kicking in a game set a few years later.

You'd think that if they were concerned with newcomers being able to follow the story, they'd set it after 5 for a fresh start. Oh well.

Their fear of moving forward with the storyline is almost pathological. Since the new writers have taken the helm of the series in 2002, there have been only three (!!!) sequels: RE4, Degeneration and RE5. Everything else were just interquels or retreads of older games. Compare this to the old staff which put out something like 10 sequels in their time frame.
I gotta admit, I am disapointed that they chose to set it between RE4 and RE5. It offers niether additional revelations to the story nor potential character development...this is 'just another mission' for these two now, and that's not a great plan.
Also; Someone needs to tell Capcom that telling us how terrifying the game will be does not actually make the game terrifying. If they can make the game cary, excellent. Personally, I suspect it's another RE5 'Fear You Can't Forget' moment where they seem to think telling us it's scary makes it so. But that might simply be because ever game they've made in the last, what, five plus years has had the exact same promise?

I can't remember who said this, but it was well-put:
It's fear you can't forget because you can't forget what wasn't there to begin with.
Any bets on what this thing is? Definitely Regenerator-ish.
Okay...Chris looks pretty bad-ass here.
But again...Jill...
...what's with the fucking spandex body suits? I can only hope her vagina isn't hanging out again like it was in RE5.
**Chris and Jill infiltrate the giant ocean liner seen in screenshots** Chris: *sniffs a bunch of times and then groans* Ugh...I hate the smell of the ocean. Smells like rotting fish. Jill: *uncomfortable* Uh...yeah...it does stink. The ocean, I mean. Chris: *eyes widen* Jill: *sighs* Sorry. *zips up her vagina hole* Chris: *nods* Much appreciated.
She looks more and more like Lara Croft in that body suite. lulz.
EDITz;
I've noticed something.
Why does Chris' costume attire ALWAYS have to be green? Vice versa with Jill and blue?
Can't they pick a more original colour scheme; I'm sure red would look fine on Chris, purple on Jill.
I just find it a tad silly.
