Pro-tip for CAPCOM's designers and writers: A survival horror title is more horrific if you don't know that the protagonists are alive and kicking in a game set a few years later.
After RE5 anyone expecting a main good character death is being silly. Even before that is should have been obvious, but RE5 spelled it out pretty clear.
Battlesuit haters making me lol.
Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."
EDITz;
I've noticed something.
Why does Chris' costume attire ALWAYS have to be green? Vice versa with Jill and blue?
Can't they pick a more original colour scheme; I'm sure red would look fine on Chris, purple on Jill.
I just find it a tad silly.
Did Leonardo ever wear orange? Did Michelangelo ever wear black? Did Raphael ever wear PURPLE?! Come on now.
I gotta admit, I am disapointed that they chose to set it between RE4 and RE5. It offers niether additional revelations to the story nor potential character development...this is 'just another mission' for these two now, and that's not a great plan.
Also; Someone needs to tell Capcom that telling us how terrifying the game will be does not actually make the game terrifying. If they can make the game cary, excellent. Personally, I suspect it's another RE5 'Fear You Can't Forget' moment where they seem to think telling us it's scary makes it so. But that might simply be because ever game they've made in the last, what, five plus years has had the exact same promise?
Any bets on what this thing is? Definitely Regenerator-ish.
Okay...Chris looks pretty bad-ass here.
But again...Jill..
...what's with the fucking spandex body suits? I can only hope her vagina isn't hanging out again like it was in RE5.
**Chris and Jill infiltrate the giant ocean liner seen in screenshots** Chris: *sniffs a bunch of times and then groans* Ugh...I hate the smell of the ocean. Smells like rotting fish. Jill: *uncomfortable* Uh...yeah...it does stink. The ocean, I mean. Chris: *eyes widen* Jill: *sighs* Sorry. *zips up her vagina hole* Chris: *nods* Much appreciated.
Spandex wet suits with tennis shoes...
I'd simply like to restate my earlier opinion in that I look forward to mercs a lot more, due to my low faith in the storyline of the games.

While I agree that Capcom are too scared of offending fans to kill of a main character, it's stupid. The series, whether survival horror or survival action, is still survival. There should be losses among the good guys.
Of course, I was one of the few people who liked the idea behind the virals for RE5 with Chris going mad, because the characters should be suffering sever issues by this point. You see things that wipe out cities, you loose a few marbles in the great game of life.
Maybe that's where Leon's personality went. He's suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, compounded by a certain First Daughter's soul crushing screeches. I still prefer 'Brain Eating Hair Parasite' as a theory though. It fits better with Resident Evil than actual character growth and emotion.

It's especially stupid when you consider that Capcom has just erased an entire universe in their other franchise, Devil May Cry, even though they knew it would be followed by fan rage. Yet in Resident Evil, during all those years, bar Ada and Steve, they've never killed a meaningful good character (or at least I don't remember them doing that >_>).
Well, they did kill Wesker. I'm holding my breath as the whether they have the balls to keep him dead this time. Ada and Wesker were both killed, and they even threw in a comment for Steve that means he could be brought back if they wanted to. In case it didn't prove a popular choice, most likely, which is why Ada and Wesker came back.
Place your bets now - how likely is it that Revelations is set before RE5 so it can have Wesker in it to guage how many fans want him back?
The truth is, the series needs a small masacre at this point. Especially of people you actually get to play at any point in the main game. None of them sods die, or not for very long at least
Jill looks terrible, I dont care about the outfit. If she is wearing a wetsuit and they do swim onto the ship then it would make sense. Infact it doesnt make sense that Chris isnt wearing one. However her face is piss poor. Bottox much miss Valentine? I am really excited about these games and Im praying that they fix the characters faces. Her Remake model was perfect, why change it?
As far as big character deaths go its obvious that Chris and Jill wont die because they are in RE5. They said they would have other B.S.A.A. characters involved but how much of an impact will their deaths make if they only appear in 1 game? It will be like Doug from Deseprate Escape, No1 gives a toss. I was hoping to hear more about Alex Wesker but that wont happen neither because Chris/Jill dont find out about him untill LIN. The only people they can use would be Barry and Rebecca, they could kill them off explaining why they dont appear in RE5 but I really am dreaming to expect something like that.
It's a bomb. If Jill goes under 55 mph she explodes.
I laughed so hard at this.
Anyways, I think both games look pretty good. I'm already dropping the money for a 3DS based on these titles, but to see the quality is already pretty good makes me happy.
Now about characters dying. Capcom really does need to do some of this. There's little worry in a series about horror and death if none of the main characters die. And also, why leave behind other main characters?
I would love to see Claire in a full blown title (not mercs or Darkside), a new story with her would be great (RE6?). And then there is Barry and Rebecca, both characters we know to still be alive. I'm sure many long time fans would be surprised to see Barry die; and I would be saddened by Rebecca's death. But I think the series needs some population control. Kill off some characters and introduce new ones.
