  • Resident Evil The Mercenaries & Revelations Stage Program Report

The stage program for both RE 3DS titles have just finished. Gameplay videos were shown for both titles, as well as a brand new trailer for RE The Mercenaries.

It is now confirmed that Jill and Chris won't be the only returning characters in Revelations.

The Mercenaries was the focus of the stage program. New miscellaneous stuffs were shown in the gameplay clip, such as being able to switch between weapons on the fly without interruption via the touch screen. It is now confirmed that the game will have the perspective view from RE4/5, as well as the first person view.

Capcom stated that The Mercenaries will be released not far away from the system launch. Expect launch date and price to be announced very soon.

If you missed the stage program, you can rewatch the entire thing on the following link:

Didn't liked the enemy on Revelations, Silent Hill material, not Resident Evil.

Both games look great but Revelations demo was boring and dull.

Most probably because Revelations was a very limited demo due to its early stage of development.

The Mercenaries is closer to being completed, and hence more hype and more contents to show off. I think I saw Claire/Krauser reloading their weapon on the fly while running.

Also, they were picking up item without any prompt.

All I can think of when I see these videos is, why the FUCK can't Mercs be on PS3? I'd pay for it in a heartbeat. Also, Lost in Nightmares and now the Revelations gameplay prove that RE can be 'scary' again, even with the over-the-shoulder view. I just 1. do not want to buy an expensive handheld right now, and 2. wish Chris and Jill would fucking go away already.

Sweet. That small Revelation's gameplay demo actually sold the system to me. Even if I didn't understand a word from the presentation LOL.
It's impressive that a handheld can achieve those graphics - lightning effects.
Now on Mercenaries 3D, I guess multiplayer is pretty much confirmed on the trailer, I hope there's gonna be an online option, that team of Hunk and Krauser made me salivate (add Mr. Albert Wesker into that mix and I'll be a happy man).

Gosh I hope the aiming isn't restricted to first person for both games. Aside from that, I'm totally psyched for both of these. Claire Redfield AND Hunk for Mercs? I hope some more new characters are added as well.

I saw prompts, they just do not have a pick-up animation. Walk over ammo, press button *magic* it is suddenly in inventory.

Look at 1:45 in the merc video for clear example. Can see ammo counter for same ammo she picks up as well as 'Y' prompt for it.

"Do you wanna pick this up Yes/No?"

That wasn't in RE5 mercs either.

No new trailer for Revelations. But there's a gameplay video recorded from the live stream earlier on.

Overblown action belongs in RE...but only in Mercs.

Yep, seems like a big mistake Capcom is releasing the games ONLY on a kiddie handheld system. I have nothing against Nintendo as I still love my Gamecube, but with the Wii and its focus on family-friendly stuff, I just can't take this new handheld seriously.

I predict that in the future they will be released on other consoles since they won't sell well.
